Notable placements for Elena, Akuma and others
Sho is one of the top Street Fighter 3: Third Strike players around, with first place finishes at both Evo Japan 2024 and 2025, although the latter was a team event.
He’s known as an absolute top flight Yun player, and he recently put out a new tier list for the title ranking the 19 base playable characters on the roster, with a few placements that might be surprising for a number of fans of the game.
In the top tier spots, he places Chun-Li, Ken and Yun holding down the first three rankings in the game. This matches up closely with our own community voted list for Third Strike.
However, he has Elena in A tier, which is a very strong ranking for a character we usually don’t see being that high up in most pro player tier lists.
Akuma, Yang, Hugo and Alex all find themselves in the B tier, with Akuma and Yang usually being ranked higher and Hugo and Alex often finding themselves placed at or near the bottom of many lists.
This is a really compelling take from one of the best players around, and it’s quite interesting to look over how he sees the game in its current state. Click the image below to see the full list.
