Hey everyone, just recently went sff and trying to undervoltage my 9700x for lower thermals. A positive consequence was that I able to attain better performance so far at PBO -40 with no issues, though long term stability remains to be seen.
Anyways, although the ive been able to hit -40, I noticed temps are pretty much the same compared to no undervolting, so I wanted to try and force a thermal limit by setting the "Platform Thermal Throttle Limit" to 80. To my surprise, setting a thermal limit to 80 actually led to higher temps overall but the exact same cinebench r24 score of 1206. Pictures 1 and 2 are of the HW monitor page during the cinebench runs. Picture 3 is a BIOS (not mine) page with the relevant options displayed for the PBO on. I know it only shows maxes which could be transients, but I was watching the temps throughout and with a throttle limit, it roughly hovered around 79 – 80 for most of the test
My guess is that I set the wrong option in the bios for effectively reducing the thermal max, as I should have maybe messed with "PBO Limits". Would love to hear what you guys thing

if you just run the tests in reverse order, will the results match?
