Still clutching to Windows 10 over here

I have no intention to move to new Windows full spyware … Windows 10 is spyware light in comparison ….

I prefer to have OS as i like it, not as i am forced to use it. So … Will use 10 for as long as I can. I anticipate that there will be alternative soon-ish.

  2. Nubetastic

I have seen windows machines without activation and on a network in a professional environment.

What is dead can never die.

I am almost certain they will increase the lifetime.

The only issue with moving to Linux right now are minor bugs in Proton with new games coming out that are fixed in a month or two max and kernel level anti cheat and some portion of games still being worked on that are not working out of the box. For NVIDIA users it will also be more challenging than for AMD users, especially on Wayland on non RTX series cards.

As for Windows 11 its just more bloated and filled with spyware than Windows 10 and more and more older games are being cut off and no longer playable without eons of tinkering and also some older games that were working on Windows 10 like Arcania, no longer run on Windows 11 without fixes.

im not installing Win11 even if its the only OS left

  6. OkNewspaper6271

Dipped to Linux the moment Microsoft announced Windows EOL a year or 2 ago no matter who they send I will never move to W11

  7. Alternative-Bit318

I’m sure I’m going to get shit on for this but I actually like 11 better. 10 was a constant issue and I haven’t had a single crash in 11.

  8. henriquebrisola

Anyone think I will be stuck on w10 forever if I don’t update before the end of support?

  9. AdrianTresk

Been in a living hell since my Windows XP PC kicked the bucket … I’m still in moarning … Will be holding out till the bitter end and only be dragged kicking and screaming into the future … I ****ing hate reverse progress.

Moved to linux mint a while ago, since i realized i could just… Add programs (not only Games) to steam and run with proton it’s been great, it Even runs installers for Windows on linux through steam

Rn I stick to the 2010 aspire 5560g (*i use it for college*), and damn, windows 8.1 have some vibe for me

  13. TPO_Ava

Moved to Mint. Mildly miss league even though I didn’t even have it installed the last few months. There’s been a learning curve but none of it was for day to day stuff.

Installing and setting it up was faster than doing a win 10 install for a friend of mine. In hindsight I regret not switching sooner.

  14. ExpectDragons

StartAllBack allows you to restore older features removed in Windows 11

  15. Cosmicswashbuckler

Can someone photoshop gaben on Jon snows face

  16. Good-Ad6650

Yeah they will, destroy all windows users. I switched to Linux for gaming windows is just for shit I MUST use

  17. LordVixen

Still using Windows 7 on one of my PCs.

  18. Praesentius

Let me move the Taskbar to the side of the screen and then we’ll talk Win11.

  19. Having switched to 11 and ran the cleanup software, it’s not bad, I just don’t like it. It runs pretty much everything as well as 10, sometimes better, sometimes worse. Everything just feels a bit more restrictive and closed off; I don’t have access to settings as easily (or at all) as I did on 10, 7, or XP.

I’m going to install Linux next week

  20. -Laffi-

I actually turned off the message about Windows 10 being discontinued. One little google search, and just a click of the button. System -> Notifications -> Turn off “tips and tricks”.

  21. dirtsnort

Two options (outside of Mac): Linux or Win11 with debloat tools. Personally running Linux now and so far haven’t had anything I miss from Windows but I get not wanting to switch. Just run OO Shutup10 and win11debloat and it’ll be much better.

  22. Scary-Try3023

Got no problem switching to windows 11 as I never activated it anyway, my bigger problem was being told that relatively new hardware and in particular AMD CPUs won’t be compatible which was ridiculous.

  23. Oh guys dont remember when w10 launched, like you had to remove some stuff using powershell so they dont log everything and force updates, same stuff win w11, just wait till there are enough methods to remove all the sassy coding M$ put to fuk the users and call it a day.

I hope SteamOS improves more so i can finally remove M$ from all my IT ecosystem.

  24. balrog687

Seriously thinking into going full AMD and switch to steam os.

  25. beyondoutsidethebox

And when SteamOS releases, it’ll be a Red Wedding for Microsoft.

  26. Several_Foot3246

go to steam OS, I’m seriously tempted

  27. Southside_john

The only problem I have with windows 11 is that when I try to do care install it doesn’t work as easily. I always have to install 10 fresh then upgrade to 12

  28. Kicked W10 out for good today. Just Linux single boot from now on for me on my desktop pc. Still have a w11 laptop though for music stuff and such.

  29. I dont want to give up 98SE for xp, i dont want to move to windows 7. 8….. well lets forget that one. Win 10 over 7… never.

Funny tho u can actually still activate XP via a phone call without no internet hooked into the pc. Have one still running 98SE as a retro system. I still have a DOS system on a shelf somewhere. Its all in what u want.

October will be Linux time for me. Already moved my laptop over to test the waters

  32. Dramatic_Leader_5070

  33. FragRackham

Yeah, and i have like the one i7 they aren’t supporting for the switch. I gotta figure out Linux man….

  34. F1ackM0nk3y

I’ll move to Linux before moving to 11
