The Minster of Foreign Affairs is attacked, and his attacker switches out the guy's braincase with his own. The attacker basically becomes the Foreign Affairs Minister! All the while, the atracker is carrying around the Minister's brain in a freaking suitcase!
How would it feel to be a defenseless mind trapped inside a suitcase? Can't say anything. Do anything. And your attacker is carrying you around. What a nightmare!

I have no mouth, and I must scream!

Well in this case I don’t think the brain was awake. No big live support system. So I think it was in some kind of sleep state. But with this level of technology you could trap someone in an eternal hell torturing them or even worse in an endless blank room with nothing to do while not being able to sleep.

As a bonus horror you could never be sure that what you sense is real even after you get released. What if this is just another simulation…

Sir, every episode does. That is why this anime is so precious to us. It makes us think about the things we did not know we needed to think about.

Though honestly, I am due for a rewatch. I am glad you reminded me.

They swapped “ghosts”. A lot of SAC still hangs off the idea of what it means to be a singular person, through Makoto’s own existentialism and the scenarios in tons of episodes. If this is your first run of this show, hold on and pay attention to every episode.

if I remember correctly the one about the brain that played his “perfect movie” was a cool episode but I do not remember if it was from this season, the guy’s movie was only perfect in his head and nothing real could capture it so he was kind of a brain where people connected and watched it. something like that.

I’d say that logically the brain wouldn’t be active.

I think of it like a computer.
In this case it’s like someone took the hard drive, ram, and CPU out of a PC, and put it in a box to move.

Plug it all back in and it works fine with no data loss but in transition it doesn’t have an active system.
