Capturing was a pretty amazing and granular experience in X2 The Threat. You never knew what you ended up with in your cargo hold. You were already lucky to have the rare and coveted 25MW shield of those omnipresent Pirate Ships after the pirate was convinced a space suit might not be that bad of a travel choice. Even rarer was it for the front gun to stay intact. But both was like a jackpot in the lottery
And those Borons were actually quite cute fellas.

My deep love for the X franchise is blooming again. X3 Reunion and X4 Foundations are my comfy games. I just love the hell out of them.
Have fun, my friend!
I have some happy memories of this game, and some intense experiences. The sudden and unexpected enemy onslaught that takes place early in the game completely took me by surprise – I have memories of having no combat ships that could deal with the new enemy and having to resort to hiding inside my own ore mine and hoping they blew themselves up or just got bored and left.
I got to the point where I had capturing the Xenon capital ships down to a tee. I had one in each of my controlled sectors on patrol, along with a few frigates. No shenanigans in my space!
