The patch notes for Season 3 of Street Fighter 6 are scheduled to be released today at 7 p.m. PDT / 10 p.m. EDT. Of course, Street Fighter 6’s servers will be down for about seven hours during the maintenance period.
As expected, all 25 characters will be receiving changes in the upcoming update. However, every single one of these character changes remain unlisted at the moment.
Fortunately, Capcom has teased a few changes that will affect the game’s universal systems. For example, Perfect Parries have been nerfed while throw techs now award the defender with Drive Gauge.
In a recent video upload, Daigo Umehara discussed his thoughts about all the confirmed and rumored changes coming to Street Fighter 6. It turns out that he’s not particularly fond of the throw tech award for the defender.
“That just makes the attacker feel bad,” noted Daigo. What’s interesting is that Daigo feels as though this Drive Gauge should be awarded to the attacker in this situation rather than the defender.
Meanwhile, it seems that the Perfect Parry change is being well received by those around Daigo. Even the professional players feel like the Perfect Parry is making the game feel “too random.”
“There’s talk of Perfect Parry getting nerfed, right?” begun Daigo on that topic. “Maybe there’s some debate around it, but the people around me? We’re pretty happy about it. Because the game is too unstable. So the people who work hard every day, they hate how much randomness Perfect Parry brings into the game.”
Daigo even ends up diving into the speculation that suggests that throw loops could be getting removed in the upcoming update. Check it all out below:
