What resolution and refresh rate are you running we need that to determine what card you should get.
Tyz_TwoCentz_HWE_Ret
That’s a tough call, you are only getting at max a 10/12% uplift with the 5060Ti in most benchmarks i have seen. A used 3080Ti for example could be found with the same amount of Vram as the 2080Ti and substantially better GPU architecture. That being said GPU prices suck a big donkey appendage atm with no clear sight of prices coming down to earth soon.
Mega1987_Ver_OS
sure it’s the GPU?
have you tried a different monitor?
it might be your monitor kicking the bucket.
50mk
well any GPU with a 16GB is a ok for me. now I know 8gb is fine but if you want to add mods textures packs thats eats up v-ram some games may have memory leaks. but F to pay respects to a good GPU that served you well
mvw2
The 5070 existing makes the 5060/5060Ti pointless. Even of you’re looking at the slight cost savings, don’t. The price difference is too little. Just get the 5070.
Trungyaphets
If you are still satisfied with the performance of the 2080 ti then a 5060 ti 16GB would have similar performance with much more VRAM. Would be an ok replacement. If you want some performance uplift, like ~40%, go for 5070. If you only play at 1080p I doubt you would need anything more than a 5060 ti, except AAA games at 1080p 120+ fps.
Can you check at what prices you could get 5060 ti 16GB and 5070?
Thunder_Wasp
I think 9070 XT is the best performance for value at this point.

Maybe switch to AMD? Just giving my opinion

If u going to buy one, please also send this thing to repair stop, something like northwestrepair on YouTube
Who know maybe it’s just worn out on certain capacitors that need to be replaced, maybe u can get it fixed and it can be used as backup GPU for your own use in future
Bobert25467
If this is just for gaming and you are in USA you should consider the 9070. The cheapest one I could find right now is $680 which is only $40 more than the cheapest 5070 I could find but it outperforms the 5070 in most game except the ones designed for NVIDIA and has 16gb of VRAM. A new rx 9070 or used 7800xt, 7700xt, 3080, 4070, 7900 XT, or 7900 GRE are what I’d be looking at. Quite a lot of options but there’s likely only a couple at a good price in your local used market
slayez06
The irony is it’s comparable to what you had lol
MiquelVz
honestly just go for a 9070 XT
razorbacks3129
I’d say 9070XT or find a used 4070 Ti Super or maybe a new 5070Ti but that’s way too expensive for my tastes
positivedepressed
Don’t, not a great uplift. This is not the era of 2080Ti > 3070 anymore. Generational gap is shit.
Save up for a 4070 Ti Super if theres still any or 5070Ti. 9070XT or non XT also a good choice.
External_Antelope942
Oh no has it really been 6 years 😬
Damn I’m getting old
obas
Don’t buy anything 5060.. Either 9060/9070/xt or 5070/ti
MakimaGOAT
decent upgrade but nothing to go crazy over tbh.
idk ur budget but i wouldn’t go for anything lower than a 5070/9070. my philosophy for upgrading tech is when i upgrade, i gotta go big. i would want great generational uplift, not just average uplift.

I have a 4070S and its pulling its weight nicely. It’s about on par with a 5070. The 5060ti wouldn’t be much of a jump in fps, but you’ll gain all the latest RT stuff.
CianiByn
I refuse to buy Nvidia cards anymore. They are so anti consumer and they need to get hit the only place that matters sales.

I have been positively supprised of rtx 5060 ti 16GB.
My upgrade was from 1080ti.

I feel like the juice in the 5060 is going to be around how you feel about DLSS frame generation. In terms of raw dogging the horsepower, it’s not a huge uplift, but the software side gives options.
A friend with a 5090 (…different league!) is not a fan of multiframe generation (he says it’s laggy af), which is the new party trick that the 5000-series cards brings over 4000-series.
From my personal perspective, having gone from a 3070 to a 4070 Super (new rig, not a card upgrade), the video performance uplift felt largely around video memory (which, don’t knock it, was pretty decent).
In your shoes I’d probably (assuming you’re on a budget) consider the 16GB 5060 as a viable option but not look to nVidia’s multiframe generation benchmarks. Used cards are also fine, but regardless of where you land, I’d probably consider (for 4K) that VRAM is king and get the most you can for your $$.

4070Ti Super/5070Ti/9070XT. I think anything below this tier of performance will be underwhelming to you.

the 9070xt is the best price to performance card on the market right now.
InfernoTrees
Maybe 9070XT or 5070 Ti.
If you really must, im sure a 5060 Ti (16Gb) is fine but it’ll 100% be more of a replacement, rather than any sizeable uplift. Given the 9060XT is about to release, maybe just give that a wait and see.
travelavatar
6 years?… that is a bit premature…. did you buy it new?
west_sunbro
Unless you want to buy into Jensen and his vs, you won’t see any great upliftment in perf, cause 2080ti was 2-3 % faster than 3070 and 5060ti is 10-15% faster, so id suggest buy used with MIN 12 gb vram or 16 gb recommended
EvilxBunny
I upgraded from an RX 6600 to a 5060 Ti a few days ago and it’s a world of a difference to me, it will be much less for you.
it’s a great buy to maintain your gaming performance, but it’s not a definitive upgrade for you. I snagged mine just above MSRP and didn’t want to buy a 5070 because my Ryzen 5600 will probably limit it.
