Could this game see a re-release as part of a compilation?

None

Street Fighter X Tekken recently had the Games for Windows Live option removed on Steam, reportedly making the game unplayable online with users being unable to access their save data.

However, now you can access the DLC you’ve purchased, which you couldn’t do previously if you didn’t use a CD Key for your game. The game is still not listed as being for sale on Steam.

Other Capcom games that are not in the fighting game genre got a similar update, which removed Games for Windows Live support, like Lost Planet.

Street Fighter X Tekken has had various updates through the years, that added higher quality game logos, banners and artwork. The assumption here is Capcom wouldn’t bother updating these things unless they had some plans for the title in the future.

During an interview in April of this year, Street Fighter 6’s producer, Shuhei Matsumoto, was asked if Capcom had any more games that they were looking to put into a compilation, like the recently released Capcom Fighting Collection 2.

“Capcom still has many fighting games that aren’t playable on modern hardware,” Matsumoto said.

“We’ll be listening to the voices of our fans who play our games and, to the extent that it’s possible, we want to offer an environment for you to play them,” concluded Matsumoto.

While there’s been no official mention of Street Fighter X Tekken being included in an upcoming collection, this title remains very popular among some members of the fighting game community, who actively support the scene and regularly hold tournaments for it.

Considering the game has seen a solid amount of updates through the years on Steam, it’s possible Capcom staff members are tinkering with it to see how the game may work in an upcoming re-release, however, we likely won’t get official word of such a product until it’s announced.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 topped Japanese sales chart upon release which shows there’s a solid appetite for older fighting game titles from this company being re-released in a new package with updated netcode and other offerings.
