Some of yall are really quick to forget why Battlefront 3 was shelved, you keep asking for it and this is what we are gonna get, especially since we know who holds the license.

I’ve never played but what do you mean no classes?
Like, different non-hero infantry? There wasn’t a choice on that?

nu-BF2 had a single player campaign, but it was crap. I don’t think BF needs a single player campaign. Its focus is on mulitplayer. Even original BF’s single player was pretty much just bot matches.

The fucking loot boxes all over again kek.

EA doesn’t have exclusive rights anymore my dude.

The battlefront 2 craze is like the schedule 1 craze, people will move on in a couple weeks
Alternative_Gold_993
If they brought back Galactic Conquest like people have been asking for the past TEN years, I might be convinced, but let’s be real, that’s not gonna happen.

What no extraction mechanics?

Battlefront 2 had a single player campaign though, it even got a DLC campaign. They also don’t need to make it a hero shooter, there are already heroes in the damn game

Buddy, the entire game was pay to win and either people don’t know or forget how bad it was pre launch and at launch.
We played Battlefront behind closed doors several times before release and didn’t know how many cards there were and how insane some of them were. These were limited play sessions and feedback sessions as we were traveling to Sweden. Each trip was 2-3 days.
Game comes out and I decide to bust out the credit card and spend 225 USD. Instantly get some insane min/max cards for multiple setups for ships, heroes and infantry. There were many rounds where I never even died once. It was WILD. The amount of shit I got away with was egregious. It wasn’t cause of skill, it was cause of all of the crazy buffs.
EA putting pay to win in a shooter caused massive backlash. So much so that it got cut back drastically but not removed. Was an absolute wild time to be a content creator, streamer and gamer.
Well, except the fact of just history.. the second game had a singleplayer option, even an option of playing vs NPC, and ‘classes’, with no battlepass or massive p2w scheme.
Why would it change any, since it was successful. They did learn from the failure the first one was, not go back to it. A Battlepass I could accept, they are really good at keeping players invested for minimal cost.
And stop crying over 100$ games; that’s reality now, no amount of tears is gonna bring back the past price tags games had, sad as it is.

The 2nd game is exactly the opposite of everything in this stupid image, OP. Delete this.

Even if the modern Battlefront games are much better now, I still remember how bad the launch for both of the games were so even if Battlefront III released tomorrow I’m not touching it for a long, LONG time.

A Helldivers style game like this would do numbers if you did it for clone wars.

That’s not BF3 though.

This is a trash post. This info never existed and you made it up.

If it had galactic conquest, I would pay that $100 price tag.

I want the BF3 that was cancelled before the modern BF1 remake came out

I wonder what Battlefront 3 would look like given how good 2 still looks after all these years.

Gamers have the biggest case of Stockholm Syndrome known to man. They love continously being ripped off time and time again, forgiving companies and pretending like it’ll be better next time.
Battlefield 2042 had absent features, was so buggy that only 2 guns were viable and had the giant person bug return from Battlefield 3. Let’s also not forget the removal of classes and replaced with specialists. Now people are quick to forgive them for the next game.
Battlefront 2 had a myriad of problems. Loot boxes, Heroes and soldier progression locked behind random chance, lack of content, and lack of updates. EA reversed most of those decisions very late in the game’s life and abandoned it. I have no idea why the game has seemingly revived itself, but EA had no faith to continue with this game. They now want EA to release a 3rd game and probably introduce battle passes, remove all classes and put specialists so we all play as Rex or Cody, then half ass the game again to just abandoned it.
Cyberpunk 2077 is praised to high heavens with weekly posts of “Cyberpunk was always good”, failing to acknowledge all of the bugs, glitches and that Sony of all people decided to do a massive refund as the game is a shell of itself on last gen.
Fallout 76. Whoever thought having a game with no NPCs and only 20 players was a good idea should be thrown into Oblivion. Not only this, but in true Bethesda fashion, there are hours of montages just for bugs. To be honest I’m surprised this one still sees updates, but these are paid expansions in a game that requires a purchase and then there are mico transactions. I’m not sure if it has a battle pass but if it does then it has achieved every form of exploitation currently known. It also had it’s “Fallout 1st” subscription which was a giant scam.
Starfield is just boring. People will undoubtedly forgive Bethesda and buy TES6 with no pause for concern thinking Oblivion Remaster was all Bethesda when it was all farmed out to another developer.
GTA5 is gonna be here, not for it’s release, but for the online component. Everyone is so hyped for GTA6, least until it got delayed, that they’ve forgotten about the Shark cards, nerfing of money gain, removal of obtainable vehicles and addition of a real casino while not expanding on the single player as it generates less money than the online component. If that’s the case then I can see GTA7 just being an online only game but that’ll be in 2090 and I’ll be dead by then or turned into a robot by Elon.
Xdefiant was so bare bones, lacked a lot of Ubisoft IPs and again featured this specialist heavy gameplay. It was buggy, net code sucked and when it closed they had “6+ months” worth of content just sitting there unreleased confirming the gatekeeping nature of these games. Xdefiant confirmed that it was only drip feeding content when they saw player numbers dwindle, thinking they could keep coasting.
There’s plenty more that I haven’t mentioned but suffice to say the wide population of gamers are complete morons that love getting smacked about from 1 company to another. Its very rare we see Concord situations happen but its the only way studios learn.

Star Wars should take a note from Marvel and put effort into a hero shooter similar to OW

Gee, I can’t wait to play another 12v12 capped pre-scripted two/three part battlefield reskin where you can’t even use vehicles unless you grind for them, in which case you can’t even get off unless you die (with terrible controls to boot), having to also grind for specific weapons because who cares about lore consistency when you can use a T-21 rifle across all classes from all factions, am I right?

Classless is great, tbh.

The original Battlefront 3 was shelved because of how much it was costing Pandemic to make it. I knew one of the developers from the first two (Mike Zaimont, who later made the fighting game Skullgirls), and in a post on the old Shoryuken.com forums, he explained that it cost them north of $500,000 just to redo a single character model.
