If you betray her, you can find Meredith’s corpse instead, I believe.
If you either don’t talk to Meredith or you betray her, it is her instead of Anthony who is killed by Militech as punishment for losing the convoy.
If you help Meredith recover the Militech convoy, Anthony is killed by Meredith for good measure.
