Most top teams will play their first BO1 of 2025 during the major. It’s just fucking ridiculous.
That’s how you get teams such as MIBR who do 2-0 the first day and end up not going to the playoffs. That’s how you end up with playoffs such as the one in Paris.
I don’t understand how Valve can look at this and be like: “Yeah, that’s fine”
BO3 final is not as much as a problem IMO even though I would prefer BO5.

I like the format.
It opens up chance for upset but teams also needs to be able to win at least one bo3 to progress, and get to play bo3 for elimination.
I only hate bo1s for my Pickems. Cause there’s always at least one upset that destroys my 3:0 and 0:3. Other than that in reality bo1s and needing a bo3 to progress and be eliminated is fine. I do think since mr12 though, bo1s are worse than they were before, and would like to see an argument about mr12 and current economy be made over a bo1 format one
Bo1 in mr12 is madness. You just need to win both pistol round (rng) and it’s almost done
