This cinematic, constantly cutting away just make me feel the game isn’t worth just showing off lol.

Prolly cus it will be the same thing but now with better graphics.

  2. I just remember all the bots made me quit the first game.

  3. Fiftycentis

Man, i loved the game and some things gave me nostalgia.

Gameplay looks a bit more action than the original, and it doesn’t look bad at all. If it ends up being f2p i’ll definitely give it a go, but idk if i’ll have the time to commit to an mmo. Hopefully they’ll have a better publisher, fuck gameforge.

  4. Screamin_Toast

First game honestly wasn’t vary good. The Pay to Win stuff was just horrible.

  5. Visually impressive? Absolutely.

Will the story be good? Will the world engage me? Will there be interesting content to play through?

Or will this be a pay to win grind?

It’s a Korean MMO, I know where I am going to place my bets.

Man, I feel like I played the first one, but my strongest memory of it is that I think I remember the icon being on my desktop at some point.  Maybe not the best endorsement of it, but I don’t know.  I’ll look it up

  7. Why it is giving me Throne and Liberty vibes?

Looks cool, but it will be clunky as heck to play.

  8. Prophesy78

I played the original and enjoyed the combat. The PvP was rough with so many players on screen, will be interesting to see the direction they go this time.

  9. Reminds me of Lost Ark. Looks and plays great, but total P2W. No idea how this game plays, but is it really P2W as everyone says? Visually, it’s amazing.

  10. Rex__Lapis

Throne and liberty looked good in trailers too. The actual game looked and ran like dogshit. I believe it when I see it.

  11. SinSinSushi

I remember being so excited to play the first one

  12. CrustedTesticle

Okay but how much pay to win will this have?

  13. lmtysbnnniaaidykhdmg

kinda crazy how far games have come since pong lol

  14. Its all well and good until you show me the inevitable 50v50 performance. I recall having a good comp back in the day and in those castle sieges in the abyss I couldn’t see actual player bodies just floating names

    As an OG Aion player;

Good to see NCsoft hasnt changed. Visually stunning trailer that wont translate to good gameplay and no evidence of a coherent story to be found.

Im still somewhat excited AION is back for another round though; Aion 1.5 to 3.0 was a ton of fun.

  16. Neither_Cabinet_2565

Yeah I’m not trusting NC Soft no matter what they show, sorry not sorry

  17. FreddyForshadowing

There was precious little gameplay in that trailer. Like the first 1/3 was just pre-rendered cut scenes and then the second 1/3 MC riding around on different mounts. Then they showed maybe a couple of attack animations in the last 1/3.

  18. Aion with more triangles. Cash shop with more pay to win.

  19. -BodomKnight-

I am hype ! But pretty sure it’s not coming this year.

  20. marthanders

Looks like a game I would enjoy for a month for the fresh experience and then quit when all the P2W starts kicking in.

  21. I absolutely loved Aion when it released back in…2010?

The only issue was the grind required to stay relevant in pvp. It was a classic korean mmo, where you’d need to be playing 8-10 hours a day to even remotely matter on a pvp/open world scale.

Here’s to hoping that’s addressed. (To be fair I stopped playing in around 2012, so I’m not current on modern Aion)

  22. Ministrelle

Anyone know if GameForge (do they even still exist?) will have anything to do with it? Because, if yes, then I’ll avoid this game like the plague.

If not, I’ll probably play it a bit for the nostalgia and dump it when the endgame p2w starts.

  23. I played the original Aion at launch. To this day this is the only game I have ever botted in. Aion at launch was so absolutely infested with bots that the only way you could basically play the game was if you botted for materials. If you were not logged in most of the day you just never progressed because bots were raaaaampant.

  24. Unique-Actuary1468

Looks like the whole thing was put in an AI blender, no artists were hired.

The cliché AI armor, the odd foliage, the incoherent structures.

What a terrible era for Korean MMOs.

  25. InterestLeather2095

Wow. I played Aion back in the day and loved it. Can’t believe their making a sequel

  26. I quite enjoyed Aion. It had a really nice feeling combat system and I appreciated the ability to solo dungeons. I this does well.

  27. MyStationIsAbandoned

cool. but NC Soft wont be getting another penny from me. It’s not a huge loss either way. it’s likely going to be another game that has the same problems as all the other modern MMOs because they all insist on doing the same exact things that other games keep doing

  28. thugbobhoodpants

This or Borderlands were the first game to pull me out of Deeeeeep WoW addiction, whichever came first but they led into each other

Loved the Abyss or whatever the pvp zone was called, playing from Australia 99% of the population I played with didn’t speak English so it was hard to get shit done at the time

  29. samurai1226

I was so hyped for Aion when it still was Chinese only and there was some kind of mod to play it in english. They much such huge claims how the official western release will feature tons of additions for the western market like more questhubs. I was so disappointed halfway through leveling on the official version when it was 1:1 the Chinese version…

  30. anothertendy

Cant wait the Devs to use google translate again like other mmos from Korea.

  31. Fire_is_beauty

If it’s still alive in 5 years, I’ll take a look at how bad the cash shop is.

That’s all I can say about MMOs.

  32. lucasbatiiista

This is how I remember Aion 1 looked when I was a child lol

  33. AlphariusHailHydra

They made a whole new game and still failed to make the Aion Vision video a reality.

  34. I bought the special first edition for myself and my wife (then gf) back in the day. We played it for maybe a week or two… it was so full of bots and P2W mechanics that we just left the game.

NC Soft has long burned all their Lineage !/II good will for the garbage they are churning out now.
