That’s a strange way to measure. A more adequate way would be months of saving – how long it would take you to work, pay your bills and pills, buy groceries and so on.
Would be half a year for me. As for month of works… It’s complicated, depending on how to calculate, it could be about 1, or it could be as little as ~8 days.

Imagine having 4090’s and not ever using them to game on. Now you are getting closer to my world. Love playing games but work/money comes first.

My GPU cost me 2 month if count like you suggest.

About 250 💀.
Aggressive_Ask89144
About 270 (if you’re talking for the entire setup)
Well……15 years to save. And I still couldn’t go with Nvidia, but I have absolutely no regrets with the 7900XT.

I mean… Technically 0? I just sold an online good for $1.1k and got myself my PC

My entire pc with the OLED monitor and custom keyboard and all (5070ti, 14700k) definitely costs one month of salary after taxes and it is definitely worth it. I don’t have car payments or go on vacations I can’t afford so might as well indulge in a hobby I enjoy.
Flaky_Highway_857
if i skipped bills i guess 4 weeks of work
why_1337
About 90 hours for the whole setup, I use it for work as well so I guess it has already earned it’s place.
vekkaro
I’m thinking about getting a new GPU.
It would cost me 9 months of work without spending a cent. But with the inflation of my country, it might be difficult to know because the price can vary from month to month. Let’s say 1 year to be sure.
Kange109
Funded by buying Nvidia stock before the 1 to 10 split.
keket87
Around 2 weeks for the full PC.
CarnivoreQA
my whole rig (that included buying a second PSU+case) cost me approx. 3 month of work
Thankfully, I am not majorly burdened by the other payments, so effectively it took me less than half a year of working and thanks to credit card with grace period I didn’t have to wait through all that time.
A_Random_Sidequest
upfront cost of mine was 1.5 full month pay… but as it was in 2021, I mined enough ethereum to pay itself and have a little more!

3 month worth of work without spending on anything else for RX 9070 XT in Ukraine.
Facebreak123
Specs in flair, about a week and a half at the time I built it.

My gpu is worth about a little less than 40hrs of work (5days). My whole pc is worth about 2 and 1/2 weeks of work. ~100 hrs of work. Note: it would take many many more hours of work if I factor in the cost of my PC after all nececessities are paid off like bills, rent, etc.

my pc was around 1700usd, not counting some emergencies like broken fridge and stuff like that, 34 months.
welcome to brazil.
I was supposed to build it around 2019, but wasn’t happy with what I could get, why not wait a bit for future releases? covid pandemic hits and GPU prices absolutely explodes and the same build I had in mind shoot up in price, I can wait an bit more …
Fridge fucking dies and it was already full of poorly done repairs along the years, got an descent one and back to saving again, only in 2024 I had the money and the confidence to build, I wish I could save more but my old pc build in 2013 was already giving unexplainable, unfixable problems , so this is what I ended up with and yet, people comes up to me and ask why I didn’t go with an 4070 or above … I simply couldn’t, idk what I could do keep my pc alive for few more months
zappingbluelight
I think 2 weeks is a bit more than enough for me to get 5070ti. So if I must upgrade I can, so I guess full computer is less than 1 month.
Bandthemen
i mean what i want to build currently would be around just 2 weeks of pay (70 hours) but after bills it would be around a month, but after my savings goals for other things it would probably be closer to 10 months lol
