Towards the end of CSGO there was both long and short matches, in CS2 Valve removed that option but lowered the regular match length to MR12.
This is old left over code, every match is considered “Long Match”. The same applies to Deathmatch where technically you are playing the special “Free For All” variant and not the regular one.
They still function the same way and as such the system of switching between them technically still exists.
If I recall correctly you can forcefully make this UI popup by setting the respective console variable to `0`, just choose whichever one you want `find ui_playsettings_flags_`
