a “concerted effort” they probably paid a PR firm alot of money for.
xENJOYER
i think it’s not great… where is my money ?
Least-Path-2890
This game looks like the first AAA game made by AI. The only thing interesting about it is that the protagonist is the same guy from Mafia 3.
Sabetha1183
Ah yes, the Redditor’s approach.
You don’t agree with my opinion about this game so clearly you’re being paid to have that opinion.
Fair_Lake_5651
It looks like a perfectly mid game tbh.
james-HIMself
The gameplay looked very arcadey especially the shooting. I was getting shades of The Division gunplay and Watch Dogs 2 driving. Looks like it still needs some polishing
Thagyr
I dunno about that. This is the first I’ve heard of the game myself.
Current_Pitch8944
Where’s the negative previews? Not really heard anything about it. Saw the trailer and it looks like a more near future cyberpunk which isn’t a bad thing
ZazaB00
Maybe show something good about the game to quiet down that “concerted effort” to just describe what’s already been shown.
Cloud_N0ne
Lol no. It just looks painfully generic.
GTA is already generic and they somehow made a GTA clone that feels even more soulless.
Bosscharacter
Game looks like Crackdown without the personality.
LifeBuilder
Whoa whoa whoa! I just shat on this game **this morning.**
Didn’t get money for it. What a rip off.
AsheBnarginDalmasca
Wait, y’all getting paid? Where’s mine
Jameseesall
“Everywhere” is reminding me more and more of that vaporware The Day Before disaster.
Jellozz
Is there a negative reaction to the game? Feels more like barely anyone even realizes this game exists and is coming out in like 2 weeks.
The_Cost_Of_Lies
This is just not the PR move a week ahead of an already tough launch, after the way the preview was received.
I never want studios or games to fail, but you’ve got to avoid making it worse
mrwynd
They also said “doesn’t take much to guess who”
Tell me who, I want to make money bashing your game.
SithLordDave
Wouldn’t be surprised.
xXDibbs
Honestly speaking this is the second time I’ve heard of this game and I swear to God that I’ve never heard or seen anyone talking about it at all.
I don’t have no strong feelings about the game one way or the other but I’ve seen more threads about this negative reception the game is getting then the negative reception itself.

phobox91
It Just seems mid. AAA Studios do not understand that investing milions in development do not certify a good game
ICanCountThePixels
I’m still utterly confused by this company I thought they were building these games on their Roblox type platform but this seems like a standalone game or something?
Fitherwinkle
Man this guy is just a few weeks away from blaming bad reviews on “wokeism” isn’t he?
bobface222
I’m chronically online and this is the first I’m hearing about this game so I have no idea where the money is going
beefjesus69
I read the article, but I am confused about WHO he is implying paid people to shit on this game?
BenFranklinsCat
Okay, since nobody has said it yet:
For those not in the know, Build A Rocket Boy was founded by Les Benzies, one of the founders of Rockstar North and a Producer on most of the GTA series as well as RDR2 and a few other titles.
When they founded R* North, Les and the Houser Bros set up a shell company so they could receive royalties on the games.
The Housers basically ran R* like a lot of AAA developers do (like a madhouse) and Les got tired of their bullshit and left. Housers proceeded to cut Les out of the shell company royalty payments, which led to a MASSIVE court case, which is how all of the above became public knowledge.
Before anyone thinks I’m shitting unfairly on the Housers here, upon quitting Les not only set up shop just down the road, but also started a company called “Rocketboy Games” that, for its logo, used a sans-serif font “R” on a coloured square background with a tiny rocket in the corner, and set to work making open-world vehicle violence games. So at the same time he was suing the Housers for his royalty payments, the Housers were suing him for trading off Rockstar.
They’re both nuts.
Also, Minds Eye isn’t the magnum opus of Build A Rocket Boy. Instead, they are trying to make a game called “Everywhere” which started life as an Elon Musk-esque fever dream “everything game”, but has now basically become a build-your-own-GTA-clone custom game platform. It’s like Roblox with better graphics but less variety, or like Dreams with built-in vehicle support and city generation … or Fortnite but worse and arriving several years too late.
So I’m assuming Minds Eye is a quick built GTA clone made out of Everywhere, which was supposed to be funding Everywhere getting finished, but instead it’s getting middling reviews and the BARB CEOs are going full paranoid thinking that R* are coordinating a PR campaign against them.
The Games Industry! So much money, so little adulting.
curious_dead
I just feel the aesthetic of the GTA-style gangsters and the cyberpunk stuff didn’t match well, and the gameplay looks nothing special. The kills are looking boring, and at some point in one of the vids, the character just goes out of cover, surrounded, but it doesn’t feel dangerous to do so, he just shoots brain-dead enemies one after the other. The graphics are mid, no particularly interesting style. The story doesn’t seem particularly gripping.
Like, it might be an OK game if you’re really looking for something in those particular niches. But I’m flooded with very good to excellent games, plus those on my backlog, I don’t see a reason to even try this.
finH1
I’ve literally never heard of this game before
JERFFACE
Holy shit where can I sign up for these paying gigs? DM me. I have no moral or ethical code. I will shit on anything.
entity2
Looking at it, it seems … alright? The bigger issue here is I’ve never heard of this supposedly highly accredited game until today, either good or bad. For something releasing in 2 weeks, that seems like the bigger problem.
QuinSanguine
I always thought it looked mediocre at best long before I was paid to say it.
🤪
Ancient_Natural1573
What money and why wasn’t I given it
Akillerhorse
The dogshit looking reddit adds did that by itself… Idk what they talking about
Dire87
I think nobody simply cares for your game, mate … especially with the sketchy material that’s available to review. I worked on a few translations … and to call this “Cyberpunk GTA” in terms of the quality of writing is … a bit of a stretch, to put it mildly. Might be an okay game, certainly won’t win any writing accolades.
shadowlarvitar
Gotta love how game CEOs and movie producers blame everyone but themselves 😂
This screams Saints Row reboot
noother10
I saw the trailer, listened to where it said something about our character saving the world and having the skills to do so, while standing in the open on a road getting shot at by 10 guys with automatic weapons, slowly aiming and one shotting them one at a time while seemingly taking 0 damage in return. In any other game your character would be dead before you lined up the first shot. I couldn’t watch past that and instantly went to “meh” about the game.
Inevitable_Geometry
So this is our trend now when the game is going to bomb.
Well done industry, well done.
Palanki96
is this the game where they shared some random driving gameplay as their big trailer?
BlazingShadowAU
Half the ads I’ve seen are 60% prerendered generic looking shit, and 40% incredibly average looking driving and shooting.
Jackielegs43
Or it’s just being marketed badly, I don’t think it’s any great conspiracy.
