They say one thing and do absolutely nothing Just read through the Season 4 patch notes for BO6 Warzone, and I honestly can’t believe how disconnected the weapon balancing is from what the devs say their goals are.
Assault Rifles: They only got bullet velocity buffs. That’s it. Nothing on recoil, nothing on TTK, no real adjustments to make them more competitive or versatile. Instead, they buff a bunch of useless attachments no one even uses.
Kilo and AMAX: Two guns that were already falling off hard just got slapped even more. The Kilo arguably the worst of the OG ARs — now has more recoil deviation and gun kick. Like wtf???
SMGs: Got damage range buffs so small they're barely noticeable. You’d think they’d make more effort to help them compete in close to mid-range, but nope. Just some soft numbers no one feels in actual gameplay.
LMGs: They said these should be viable for long-range, they removed mid-damage ranges and gave them some recoil buffs. So they just shoot marshmallows more accurately now?
Shotguns: Still absolute garbage.
MW2/MW3 weapons: Still untouched.
The entire balancing pass feels like it was made by someone who only looked at a spreadsheet and hasn’t played a match in months. The meta is stale, and these changes do nothing to shift it in a meaningful way.
If your weapon balance philosophy doesn’t match the actual numbers you're putting into the game, what's even the point?

Wah.
I agree with everything you said except the Kilo and Amax recoil nerfs. Those things were busted and did not move. A good nerf
Personally, I don’t see war zone getting an update with the next cod. Even if it does it will continue to just be a mess that they use to push skin sales
They can’t manage it. They can’t even do something as simple as re-do what they did in the past

no need to buff/nerf it if it was already fine

the two op ar’s last season got nerfed and we’re mad about it???

no need to buff/nerf it if it was already fine. ofc some smg’s are better and some are worse but they’re pretty balanced right now. no need to buff close-mid range across the board since some of the smgs are meant for close range and some are meant for close-mid.

did we just ignore the massively imrpoved maximum and minimum damage range????????? and ofc they removed mid-damage range because that’s what they wanted to do!!!!!!! they wanted the ar’s to be mid range and the lmgs long range so they buff the long range for lmgs and nerf midrange!!!! are we reading the same patch notes?????

yeah 🙁
>MW2/MW3 weapons: Still untouched.
a few got touched last season. i think there still should be some changes across the board to bring all mw2/mw3 weapons to at least off-meta but saying they’re still untouched is just wrong.
anyways i’m done, can you read the patch notes better next time 😀
No massive changes and no real changes to the tons of MWII and MWIII weapons. They even buffed BO6 smgs which already destroyed anything and everything up close. Sigh.
I swear they are allergic to shotgun balancing as well. I get they are difficult to balance, but pump actions like the Reclaimer that take 4 plus shots at close range shouldn’t behave like that at all. Really sad. 🙁
I miss when warzone had legit gun fights. Now I feel like as long as you shoot first – you win.
I might be tripping but I don’t remember the MW3 weapons having this much bounce and visual recoil back when MW3 was the main cod.
Same for MW2, even tho the guns always had more visual recoil, the difference is night and day.
With rare exceptions like MW2s MX9 and some others the weapons are completely unusable.
• If LMGs are supposed to be long-range specialists, and ARs are now better at mid-to-long range (via velocity buffs), then ARs encroach on LMG territory, making it unclear why someone would pick the slower, heavier LMGs.
• If ARs are already outperforming LMGs at mid-range, and now get buffs to long-range consistency, it risks undermining LMGs’ niche completely — unless LMGs get a huge damage/TTK advantage at distance.
TL/DR: Buffing ARs in both mid and long range weakens the case for LMGs. Saying LMGs are for long-range, while ARs also get long-range help, is the real contradiction.
Giving Kilo and Amax more visual recoil is legitimately the stupidest thing they could’ve done. Visual recoil needs to be removed from CoD ALTOGETHER, not used as a buffing/nerfing mechanic
ARs absolutely slap so I don’t get that bit. Don’t get the making amax and kilo harder to use, they weren’t meta anyway.
Lmgs are just weird. Still out gunned by Ars.
Don’t forget Snipers. The HDR remains as the only viable sniper for BR.
There are like 15 snipers in Warzone, and only one is viable. And the balancing wouldn’t even be hard to make. Just make some heavy bolt action Snipers from all 3 titles be able to 1 shot at any distance, and you already have a decent variety of great snipers in your hands.
I mean ARs are pretty good already having a bullet velocity buff is more than fine. Everything was a Plus except for the recoil nerfs on the Kilo and Amax
“Don’t forget to buy the new Weed themed skins once again, thanks! we really appreciate you!” – Activision probably.
They don’t play the game they just look at data and make changes
Hell yeah smg buffs I’ve been waiting forever for.
Just in time for rebirth ranked too.
It’s gona be like the mw3 season aka the best season of ranked ever 🥹👍
prayed for times like this
For the LMGs, you can get an idea how strong they are probably going to get by looking at TTK chart on truegamedata. They basically made it so that the maximum damage range will do pre patch 1st damage drop off level damage and also make it so that the maximum damage range would be almost 100m if u put the long barrel on. Depends on how much recoil improvements they are going to get, the LMGs might just dominate the 50-100m range.
