Black Panther is not even really that popular of a character, it was a really weird idea to make a game only about him, The one he has upcoming alongisde Captain America makes far more sense financially and even then its a risk.

Reminder: This is the same studio that had some lady go viral for talking about how she wouldn’t hire white people for her team of 20 something people
I suspect the game really didn’t make any progress or it was taking too long. I wouldn’t even be surprised if the studio rejected the applications EA was proposing because they were too “white”. So EA turned off the money tap.

Can people choose not to sell their studios to EA? I wouldn’t. Instead of just letting them go, they buy them and delete them.
