Comparison is the thief of joy. I know/hope most people are sensible enough to be able to enjoy each player for what they’ve done, but the idea that someone might let their fanboyism for X player stop them from enjoying Y player is really, really sad.

It might be an unpopular opinion but I’ll take ZywOo’s clutches over s1mple’s clutches.
s1mple’ relies on flicks and flashy plays while ZywOo relies on great understanding of the round, calculated risk and crosshair placement.
This is also why I think ZywOo will still be on top even in 5-6 years. His style of play isn’t based on some crazy reflex and RNG like s1mple.

I have the feeling that Zywoo will never be the goat for those people because he’s not flashy. Zywoo way of playing is not meant to be entertaining or for show, it is meant to win over his enemies, very efficient and straight to the point. Witch to the eyes of people just watching can be boring. We remember people like KennyS or Scream because they were flashy, but they never were as efficient as Zywoo will be, in fact no actual player on the scene never will. He never has been under top 3 and yet it will never be enough.

All the time I see this comparison between Zywoo and Device, and how Zywoo can’t be the goat based on achievements the same way device isn’t. The difference is that while device hit a 1.24 rating at his absolute peak while playing for the best team of all time, Zywoo has a 1.40 rating so far this year, and the LOWEST rating he has EVER had was a 1.26 in 2022
What kept device away from the goat conversation was never being the number one player, something that Zywoo has done 3 times. Not to mention that in every year that Zywoo was the number 1, he played against s1mple.
But unfortunately there is not a SINGLE argument s1mple fans can make. He doesn’t have more majors, trophies, MVPs, ratings… S1mple has NOTHING that makes him a better player. The difference is that while s1mple is struggling to put up 0.91 ratings against Heroic, Zywoo is putting up 1.50 ratings against MOUZ.

Man i get it, zywoo is who I’d pick to be on my team. He has it over simple in almost every category, except aura. And I think that plays a huge role in what people think of players.

People like KennyS, S1mple have that dawg in them, which makes you believe. For example, there were moments in prime simples career, where there used to be fear on the server. Players were actively scared, tilting their performance downward. I don’t know how else to describe this to you, but prime simple was plain terror.
Zywoo, in all his goated efficiency, doesn’t inspire belief in me personally as an enjoyer of the esport. This is just me, and it mostly is different for you, but I feel what I feel.
That being said, I love The Woo just as much as the next guy. He’s just missing a bit of that psychopathic attitude that defines a large majority of CS players.

There’s thousands of things that can’t be measured with stats, and for that reason it would be impossible to just pick one “goat”. But gotta say that Zywoo has achieved crazy results with really worse teams that S1mple had when he won. I mean, the Woo has won so many matches with all the team in negative appart from him, S1mple most of the times had teammates performing good aswell.

He’s an incredible awper, if i need to take someone who will 9/10 shots i’d take him over monesy or simple. If we’re talking stats wise and accomplishments wise he is the best, because other players have one, but not the other (or have both, but lag behind right now like simple)

I think the only time this argument can really be made is when both careers are over. Zywoo right now is a better player than s1mple skill wise, but it’s not impossible for s1mple to recapture his form and be on par with Zywoo. He might even start winning accolades again! It’s just too early to tell, even though Zywoo as of right now has more MVPs and has been better individually for the past couple years.
