I think it’s better than actual names. I don’t mean like David or Kate but like, it’s better than introducing the new gigabyte mias.
It’s not a car. Mondeo doesn’t tell me anything about it as a car but, I at least know what screen size I getting with a 271QRX.

If I type that monitor name in a game of League of Legends will I get banned?
Possibly-Functional
Ironically monitor model names are both very informative and not at all. All the letters have a specific meaning and you can decode a lot about the monitor just from the model name. It’s just that the manufacturers are awful at explaining it. The only time I have seen a manufacturer explain it was in a private meeting with an Acer representative during a conference, after which I immediately forgot everything.
Why cant they just use a real naming scheme lien gpus and cpus do

Having spent some time working with displays, the names actually give you all the specs right there. Display Technology, size, generation etc. But yeah its really non-saying for like 99% of people and impossible to memorize as well.
