Combo Breaker is back for its 2025 installment and it’s bigger than ever. As is customary, it’ll be happening in Chicago (more specifically Schaumburg), Illinois, U.S.A.

Combo Breaker 2025 has a lot on the line for players, starting with Esports World Cup spots for all three represented games. There are four spots up for grabs for Tekken 8, three for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and two for Street Fighter 6.
As for Pro Tours, it’s a Premier Event on the Capcom Pro Tour for Street Fighter 6, a Master Tier event on the Tekken World Tour for Tekken 8, a SNK World Championship qualifier for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, King of Fighters 15 and Samurai Shodown, an Arc World Tour qualifier for Guilty Gear Strive and Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, a Demi God event for Mortal Kombat 1 for the Mortal Kombat Pro Kompetition and a Virtua Fighter Open Championship qualifier for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.
Street Fighter 6 leads the pack with over a whopping 1,300 entrants followed by Tekken 8 not far behind with over 1,100 competitors with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves next in line at over 870 signups. Guilty Gear Strive is next with almost 620 players and Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising has over 430 participants. Under Night In-Birth 2 [Sys:celes] has around 380 registrants followed by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which also crossed the 300 mark. Rivals of Aether 2 sits at more than 250 people registered and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. clocks in at about 240 hopefuls.
Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike fell just one player short of the 200 mark followed by Mortal Kombat 1, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, King of Fighters 15, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Skullgirls: 2nd Encore, Killer Instinct, Dragon Ball FighterZ which all also passed the 100 entrant mark.
There will also be main tournament play for Melty Blood Type Lumina, Vampire Savior (Darkstalkers), Mortal Kombat XL, Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and almost 40 different side tournaments. Of course, there will also be the signature Chicago Mystery Tournament which has more than 500 signups.
Streaming is being done at Capcom Fighters, Tekken, Funky P, Tenomedia, BG Callisto, Low Kick Esports, Team Spooky, Juicy Game Night, Tampa Never Sleeps, Unrivaled Tournaments, Vampire Arcadia and UGS Gaming.
