you never know with printers, windows is still trying and failing to install printer driver but it started working after i updated AMD chipset driver

Same here, updated BIOS on my laptop, my desktop, my server, my switch, my wifi access point, my router, my VR trackers and controllers, the firmware on my network cards and my NVMes…
I don’t think there’s a BIOS version more recent for my VR headset and a vBIOS for my GPU…

I remember the easiest 20$ I’ve ever made was on some old guys computer associating .jpgs with the browser so when he double clicked on an image it opened up in the browser. It was like 2002 or something.

It depends, I’m not too much of a fan of BIOS/UEFI updates. In my laptop, latest versions add some security crap that prevents undervolting, hide advanced UEFI menus, or mess up with Secure Boot and TPM stuff.

I compulsively update everything, but I have never in 20 years had an issue while updating my BIOS.
Don’t forget to update Adobe Reader too.
