Wow. Wish it was a little clearer in the image, but that really is interesting.

LOL Ubisoft. Not surprised seeing Nintendo at the top.

Crazy seeing Atlus so low when they pretty much only put out bangers now.
Typical_Intention996
Yeah. Level 5. Best was already behind them by 2008. There was a brief bit there with their first 3 games in the PS2 era where you thought they were another marquee studio to be like Insomniac or Square.

Trust on EA?
Yeah. It must be from 2008. I think after there punishment of Microtransactions on BF2 Most Players lost there trusted on them.
And Ubisoft? Wasnt Ubisoft the Publisher of the Crew 1 with the Server shutdown?

Firaxis’ games have all been good, did I miss something in 2008

Capcom is probably still ranked the same, despite some real bullshit in between there and here.

Rest in peace to some real ones and may you rest in piss to the sellouts that continue to turn their once well earned reputation to cinders

That’s just due to the franchises that were launching/doing well around that time.

I think this really illustrates how trusting a corporation makes no sense

Kudos to FromSoftware for not being on this list at all to now being one of the most trusted developers in the industry while pioneering a whole new game genre in the span of only 17 years (possibly even less depending on how you look at it).
On the flip side, yikes to Bioware’s downfall.

They nailed Starbreeze Studios trust with how they’ve handled Payday over the years especially with 3.
Surprised to see Level 5 so low though because I associate them with mostly bangers. Guess White Knight Chronicles recency must have hurt them.

Here in 2025, Bungie is so far down we’re waiting to see if the rope’s going to break.

Games “journalism” being worthless since forever. “Maybe Atlus got a low score because they are niched, hurrrr, durr??”

THQ filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy 4 years after this came out. Aged like milk this did.

I dunno, starbreeze is still exactly where it was 17 years ago.

And your average gamer knows nothing about developers and publishers. Your average gamer doesn’t care about shit like this.

As someone who’s worked in market research industry for over 13 years. You guys won’t believe the kind of data comes out of most of the survey’s related to gaming industry. I have been proving wrong so many times that I’ve come to believe that either I am out of loop of what gamers want or most of the participants that take these surveys have no clue about alot of the topics/games and are just bullshitting their way to reward points.

Rip Bioware. Truly stellar studio leadership.

This clearly isn’t filtered on which developers people know so it’s mostly just “Which of these have you heard of”
