This is from messioso’s post (Complexity coach) earlier today. This is interesting as based on yesterday’s post detailing why the US shouldn’t host Tier 1 events due to immigration/visa challenges I thought that more players wouldn’t be able to make it.

Because this sub has a hate boner for American events since the tournament isn’t in EU timezones so it’s inconvenient for them.
As an american I’m fine with Austin being the last major in the US for the next several years. Hopefully in 2028 things will begin to improve in this country. In the meantime a major in Canada or Mexico would also be very cool and hopefully easier for players to secure visas
You have to schedule events so far in advance that I wouldn’t blame anyone for not committing to the US for the next several years.
You can no longer count on reasonable expectations, or reasonable notice, for any laws or govt practices here lol.
Not hosting any event in NA is a big step to take and kind of an overreaction.
But! You can’t deny that frequency of visa issues is significantly more in NA tournaments, this one with just minor issues is an exception not a norm.
Just because they ended up getting them doesnt mean it was an easy process compared to other countries.
How long does this visa take compared to aus or France for example?
Lets not just talk about the outcome, lets learn about the process properly from someone who knows
The US shouldnt host events because its a quasi-fascist country run by evil idiots
That is 2 too many and 2 more than pretty much any other tournament held anywhere else. It’s not like Schengen, Australia, China, Brazil etc hand out visas like it’s nothing, but at least you know that you will get it as long as you have the right documents. US visas just feel arbitrary and subjective, which is somehow even worse than being overly bureaucratic
messioso isnt complexity’s coach, hes their cs general manager
Just more EU elitism. They bitch and moan about anything to do with the US and waking/staying up for events. I don’t cry on the F1 sub about having to wake up at 5AM for a race. Grow up. 🇺🇸
