Step 3: upgrade to 5080 to catch up
Step 4: Play first two Doom games anyway

    That’s how life works.

  3. KingCarrotRL

Playing on low settings when I used to play on high. Feels bad, man.

Doom Dark Ages has me doing a partial upgrade to my PC after almost 7 years from i9-9900K to a Ryzen 5 9600X. Mostly the upgrade is to prep it to recieve the 9800X3D and 5080 in my other PC, but also trying to stretch this 2080ti out just a couple more years so that the other PC can get a more worthwhile upgrade before those parts get migrated over

  5. ShadowFlarer

That’s me with my 5 year old GPU lol.

Memes aside, i just lower the settings and then i can play fine.

Step 1: Don’t play games that you can’t run at high frame rates (life is too short for slideshows)

Step 2: That’s it. You won and you’re based.

  7. Prodding_The_Line

Is that an Nvidia bus? White edition??

  8. idunnoanymore0325

when 60 fps is enough to finish the whole game

  9. GrandJuif

Current performances standards are next gen can’t even run it right so better stop runing for nothing

When my 1080 turns 15 it might be time to upgrade. Might.

  11. ArseholeryEnthusiast

In two years you should be able to get a 2080 second hand on the cheap. If you’re not on the 1080ti it might make sense.

  12. PepsiButItsMilk

    Gtx 1650 and 8 gigs ddr 3 moment 🥲

  13. ShadowHighlord

Step 1. Pirate the game so you can test if your device can run it.

    If yes than

Step 2. Do you feel like you would play the game

    If also yes

Step 3. Buy the game or if you cant afford at the moment buy it when you can

If Steps 1 or 2 are a no than feel free to delete and forget about the game without worrying about any refunds or etc

Edit: forgot to add but this is for the games that don’t have demos. Use the demos insteas if they exist as they are simply safer

Just push it two more years, and you’ll be able to get 16 GB card with *super ultra deluxe* ray tracing for like 300 bucks used.

  15. FastFooer

Buy a brand new 2000$ GPU… still have to use upscaling technology to reach a playable 60fps.

That’s my only issue… why aren’t we just streaming our games if we’re just gonna add latency and visual compression artifacts anyway…

  16. whitemagicseal

Can’t be that bad what’s the card

    **1050 2 GB**

    Just get a 9060 XT

  17. Rambo496

That’s where games like Schedule I come in 🙂

  18. ggnngg5

I have felt this for the first time in the new Oblivion remastered. I am getting about 20 fps in the open world part on the lowest settings (all low, 1080p)

  19. danshakuimo

Lol still using my GTX 1050 mobile. Reinstalling Helldivers 2 right now

  20. Kusko25

And all for increasingly diminishing returns

Good thing I mostly play indies and less brutal AAA titles.

It’s an eternal race, enjoy the current hardware

That’s fine. You don’t have to upgrade, nobody is forcing you. There are decades of PC games you can still play and new titles will still come out you might be able to run. I myself ran a GTX 1070 until a few years ago.

Just don’t be one of those people who crash out at games that use mandatory ray tracing because your card is too old to run it. That’s all.

Okay everybody. And I’m speaking this in generalities. My fellow gamers and modders. I’m 44 years old, I’ve worked on computers for years. And the biggest thing I see, nobody knows how to adequately tweak Windows 10. Meaning, getting rid of all the bloatware. And BS that just put windows naked, into a chokehold. There is a buttload, of programs online that tweak Windows and get rid of all the manufacturer bloatware. And you get back almost about 30% of your processing power. Literally. If you purge all the junk that Microsoft says you need to have. Outside of the normal operating system. Not everybody needs paint as an example. And with Windows explorer and edge getting terminated pretty soon, that right there is a collection of almost 500 megs, and about two two and a half percent of processing power. All examples. And you need to dig into the pre-installed programs, and kick out what you don’t need either. You can really stream down windows, and get a pretty good performance out of your machine. Especially if you game. Hope that helps everybody.

i will enjoy all the best graphics even if i have to do it at 20 fps
