We were soo close to greatness
Yeah lucasarts back then was an absolute menace to deal with. The reason kotor 2 shipped incomplete is because the game was scheduled for christmas that year, obsidian knew it wasn’t going to make it so they went to lucasarts and asked for a delay and initially they granted it then later on went back on their word and demanded it ship at its original date.
There is always a reason why we don’t get nice things and it is mostly because of greed

Game Informer had a really good article when Lucas arts was dissolved. Stories like this was honestly the least bizarre things that happened at the company. Originally George Lucas wanted to call star killer “Darth Icky”. The Darth Maul Game for some reason had darth talon in it. For context, talon from was from a comic series that took place a nearly a century after ROTJ. The funny part is when lucas just put toys of the two together and said “look! They’re friends!” Like a 7 year old showing off his toys and explaining their lore
With how much of LucasArts (or just George Lucas in general) was to deal with, I’m not surprised this is what happened.
