It’s graphics cardover

I mean it does come in a 16GB variant, not everyone needs 16GB.

i.e people playing strictly CSGO at 1080p

    8GB VRAM in 2025…

8GB has been dead for several years now, don’t know why NVIDIA and AMD keep making them. Even consoles left 8GB behind years ago.

  4. OnairDileas

AMD were doing well with their 9070s. And then this happens

  5. Harteiga

A bit misleading to only put the 8GB with no mention of the 16GB model.
We can assume most will be getting the 16GB model. The 8GB model probably only exists more as a response to Nvidia’s 8GB GPUs so that they can have their own equivalent card.

  6. First-Junket124

The only way I see the 8gb being fine is IF they offer it in a very low form factor variant but otherwise the 16gb I bet good money on being the only version a few months from now.

  7. NuSpirit_

I can agree that 8GB version should’ve been simply RX 9060, but OP is acting as if the 8GB version stole his lunch and kicked his dog.

Not to mention this reeks of First World Problems – some folks in third world countries will be happy there is cheaper but also the same performance version, because $50 is a lot, especially in ~$300 market. In the past I had internet buddy who was juggling between 1030 and 750Ti because he couldn’t afford anything more expensive.

Why have a dual model. Make the XT 16gb and the non-XT 8GB. AMD, stop copying Nvidia, especially their bad ideas.

  9. Tanawat_Jukmonkol

    Modern GPU driver sucks. Period.

  10. Psychological-Elk96

The 16GB card doesn’t matter in this case when the performance can barely keep up with an 8GB card that was most likely at a VRAM bottleneck for those tests.

  11. BatmanBecameSomethin

But don’t you know “Nvidia bad, AMD good.” The excuses in the comments are just hilarious.

  12. Skwalou

Pisses me off that AMD can’t take a win when it’s handed out to them. Nobody would have asked for an 8GB model if there wasn’t an option and the 16GB model’s MSRP would still have been more attractive than the 5060Ti (and even more so than its 8GB variant).
I’m not surprised by NVidia being consumed by greed considering their position of quasi-monopoly, but it’s a pretty stupid move from AMD when they should be looking to exploit every opportunity to get more mindshare back from NVidia…

  13. RunaPDX

If I were buying a new GPU today I would definitely go with a 12gb model , 8gb is not going to be adequate in a couple years

  14. Holiday-Ad-1030

I think that 12 GB would’ve been the sweet spot for this card since 8 GB is too little and 16 would’ve been overkill for it since if you were to put it at 4K and with ray tracing on, the card would be overwhelmed anyway.

*How the AMD RX 9600 XT 8GB VRAM Destroyed My Life

    **June 5, 2025 – The Fateful Purchase**
It started as an ordinary Thursday. My trusty old GTX 1070 had served me well, but the Steam Summer Sale loomed, and Reddit insisted I was “gaming on a toaster” with only 8GB of VRAM.

*”The RX 9600 XT is the perfect mid-range card!”* claimed userbenchmarks. *”8GB is plenty for 1080p!”*

    I should have known better.

At exactly 2:37 PM, I clicked “Buy Now.” My life would never be the same.

**June 6, 2025 – Driver Installation Day (AKA The First Circle of Hell)**
The card arrived suspiciously quickly. I installed it with trembling hands, only to be greeted by:

**”AMD Software: Unable to Detect Supported Graphics Hardware”**

Six hours and three Windows reinstalls later, I finally got a display signal – just in time for my work-from-home shift to start. My Excel spreadsheets now rendered at 12 FPS.

    **June 7, 2025 – The Work Incident**
During my big quarterly presentation, the RX 9600 XT decided 8GB wasn’t enough for PowerPoint. My slideshow stuttered like a 1998 webcam stream.

*”Greg, are you… are you running this on integrated graphics?”* my boss asked, as my pie charts dissolved into pixelated mush.

I was “let go for performance issues” by lunchtime.

    **June 12, 2025 – Domestic Disaster**
Sarah wanted to watch the new 4K remaster of Titanic. *”No problem!”* I said, forgetting my GPU’s VRAM limitations.

When the ship hit the iceberg, so did my framerate. The sinking scene played at 4 FPS.

*”I can’t do this anymore,”* Sarah whispered, as Jack froze mid-air like a corrupted JPEG. She left that night, taking the dog and my dignity.

    **June 20, 2025 – Financial Ruin**
    Desperate for cash, I tried:
    1. Selling the card (offers: $35 and a half-eaten sandwich)
    2. Mining crypto (*”Minimum 10GB VRAM required”*)
    3. Starting a tech review channel (my “AMD RX 9600 XT Rant” video got 3 views)

By month’s end, I was living in my car – which ironically had better graphics than my PC.

    **July 4, 2025 – Public Humiliation**
At a 4th of July LAN party, my card thermal throttled during Valorant, getting me kicked from the tournament.

*”Dude, even my phone has more VRAM,”* laughed a 12-year-old with a RTX 4090.

I snapped, throwing my PC into the community pool. The resulting electrical surge blacked out three city blocks.

    **July 10, 2025 – Legal Consequences**
My court-appointed lawyer sighed as the judge read the charges:
    – Disturbing the peace
    – Destruction of property
    – “Being a public nuisance” (the pool incident)
    – “Gross misuse of computer hardware”

The prosecutor held up my RX 9600 XT as Exhibit A. The jury gasped.

    **Present Day – August 1, 2025**
I write this from a prison library computer (which somehow runs games better than my old rig). My cellmate – in for NFT fraud – nods sympathetically.

*”8GB VRAM in 2025?”* he chuckles. *”You got what you deserved.”*

    **Moral of the Story:**
When AMD says “8GB is enough,” that’s your cue to run. Run far away.

No its okay because amd made the card (amd good Nvidia bad)

Reviewers should trash the 8GB model of they are consistent and unbiased. As for the 16GB, it looks decent as about half a 9070 XT.

  18. Hour_Bit_5183

This GPU market is a huge piss stain. It’s because of dweebs who upgrade far too soon and let em do this. That’s why they are being monsters.
