Everyone in the comments is completely misunderstanding the entire point of the aim assist debate. Its not about the strength of the pull, or the extra precision; its ENTIRELY based on the fact that as a human being, you CANNOT recognize a change in direction and instantaneously change the trajectory of your aim to compensate for a momentum shift.
OP is moving left and right at random intervals in an attempt to throw off the aim of the guy that killed him, but aim assist doesn’t take into account the human factor (reaction time) when sticking to the character model. If you’re aiming at someone moving right, and they instantly start sprinting left, you will naturally keep aiming to the right until you recognize that they are now moving left, usually delaying your aim (on average) by 250ms. Aim assist has no delay, and instead instantly shifts momentum at 0ms.

Nerfing it would not only allow you to not get beamed the way you do now, but also drastically reduce the skill floor and open up the SBMM tiers. Everybody who’s physically abled does not need demi-god aim. There just needs to be a slight slow down when passing targets like it used to be, not RAA actually tracking people for you. Its mad.

You don’t need gunskill anymore with rotational aim assist and it’s easily abused system. Remove all aim assist in future releases or bring it down to like 20% of its intended strength and maybe Cod goes back to being fun idk

This is the problem with this game right now, it’s incredibly difficult to tell if it’s cheats or just skill, I play on controller and my aim assist is not even close to that but I’m not as good at recoil control. There are a lot of high skill players out there that look like they are cheating but they are not.

Console is no longer a safe space. Scumbag cheaters have figured out how to run their cheats through a PC connected to a console. Ricochet can’t detect the scripts, because they aren’t running on the console. Activision is behind the curve. They posted that “60% of reports” crap to make their game look better.
While I agree, aim assist is busted, go take a look at a game like apex legends where the aim assist was turned way down, and how your aim flies all over the place with a controller, while a mnk can beam your shit from 400m. Because without aim assist, mnk is the superior input. Full stop.
I really don’t think there’s a way to balance the inputs. Separate lobbies are the only way to stop the problem, but Activision won’t do that because they don’t want to split the gamerbase. They want to sell you the latest twerking mouse bundle, or a bundle with fuckin Peewee Herman that has an execution where Jambi wishes your cock and balls away.

I’ve never seen anyone keep their optic that close to someone at all times. Usually with natural aiming, there’s some catching up that the optic needs to do as someone slides and jumps around. This guy was on you at all times.
Either his sens is really slow and he’s mastered his tracking, or he’s cheating. I’d put money on the latter.
