I mean Misty and Viktor are your firends too. I kind of agree though they’re the only true friends you have. You kind of get another with Kerry Eurodyne. Everyone else just sort of uses you though.

For V, Misty and Vik seem to meet every definition of the word friend. Vik starts the game by giving you a sizable 0% loan with no deadline to pay him back, to try to keep you from getting killed. And of course, you can get close to a ton of other people after the game starts. Mitch always felt like a very genuine friend to me. Panam too. Lot of non-transactional, loyal people around V.

The “problem” with Jackie is that he dies at the beginning of the game so you had very little time to get attached to him.

I do wonder how the story would play out if Jackie survived… He would probably be in recovery for a lot of the main storyline, but it would be cool to experience an ending where the last words spoken were “See you in the big leagues, V”.

Later in game, my female V had Panam as BFF, Judy as lover, River as friend plus, Kerry, Blue Moon and Us Cracks, Mitch, and a lot more.

I got Devil ending as my first ending. Left a bad taste in my mouth when I realized how ashamed he’d have been of me, that I’ll never have a drink named after me, and I did everything I did just so I could live a little longer. Didn’t get to do either thing Dex asked me I wanted to do at the start.

My hot take: Jackie kindof did this to himself. V spent their Eddie’s investing in themself and Jackie bought flashy shit. If he would’ve held off on even just bike until he was “in the big leagues” and Judy got himself some high end subdermal armor or a recovery mod like Simcoe heart, he would have survived and Dex was never going to betray us with two healthy well equipped mercs standing there.

The only way to have saved Jackie was to talk him out of doing the mission and neither of you going to Konpeki.
Every possible outcome after you enter Konpecki Tower has 1 or both you dying and your bodies left in a dumpster.
