Just watched that dalek’s video about a BO3 mod that change the game core mechanics into bo6 mechanics.
Guys, my question is:
I’m the only one who is tired of CW/BO6 sistem?

Let me explain:
I was so hyped when BO6 first came out, but, nowdays after several months from the release i’m bored. I don’t want to play the game. I’m just waiting for a new map just to complete the EE and understand the lore but i’m not enjoying the game anymore.

I’m literally hating the loadout sistem and the augument sistem but also the rarity sistem.
At the behinning of the game i was like “it seems better than CW”
but nowdays after several changes, new perks and more it seems just the same.
I hate that if i want to swithc to a different gun i can’t do it or it’s simply too difficult because i have to gain a lot of salvage and points to pap and upgrade it.
The “grind” from loadout grey rarity gun to full rarity and pap upgrade is just boring.

At the end of the day:
I feel like the game is based on camo grind and Xp grind for auguments and the “in game grind” is now gone for ever that makes the game less fun and dynamic.

Do you agree with me?

I started thinking i’m the only one thinking that way after seeing the mod i talked before and the dalek’s reaction so i want to know the community perspective.

is it just me or is the CW/bo6 hud worse than bo4?

Yes the CW/BO6 system is significantly less fun and challenging. The challenge and progression is all designed around “how long can you be bothered to play for”, rather than “how long can you survive for”.

It relies upon cheap dopamine tricks and mobile game design philosophy to score well on the focus groups.

I know there is some bs arguments flying around that “the old games were just as easy in a different way”, “AATs kill forever, just run in circles” but that actually took significant skill and focus.

Anyone can reach round 999 in any BO6 map with ease. It takes significant skill and focus to even hit 100 on some of the easiest old style maps.

Lower the pap costs, and lower the zombie Hp and there damage at high rounds, definitely needs to happen sooner rather than later.

It’s a wave based horde survival mode regardless of the game you pick, so it will always get boring.

Getting bored of farming essence and points only from kills vs. getting bored of farming only points just by shooting, different means to the same end.

After that, it changes to getting bored of using streaks vs. getting bored of using traps and AATs, cause regardless of the game, weapons stop being viable after a certain point, with the only difference being the way you’ll get more points and where you’ll spend them, and wanting to change the weapon you’re using won’t make any difference after that point has been reached.

Obviously, some games are better than others, just like maps, etc, but the core gameplay loop (not gameplay mechanics) is very similar. You’ll see people arguing about skill being a positive factor in older games, but all games will become an endurance test after you learn to play, even if it takes longer to learn in the older ones.

As much as I enjoy playing bo6 and other modern zombies stuff, I agree that the system and mechanics do make it a bit more annoying. Like I also enjoyed bo4, but I was really hoping that with the release of CW that they’d bring the old point system back.

I decided to test how fun it would be to play a game without using the crafting bench or armory, and it already is much more fun. I used side EEs to get free gold weapons, free perks, and everything. It genuinely felt really fun, however there’s no real need to play like that. The only incentive is saving a few thousand salvage, which yeah it’s useful, but really, that benefit isn’t really worth it when my guns don’t have my attachments or blueprints on em some i picked em up off the ground. The lack of personal attachments on scavenged/free weapons is a real downside that no other game has.

Also, just starting with whatever gun you want ruins the mystery box, and I’m sure we all mostly agree with that. Personally, I say we need to go back to either the bo4 or bo3 system where you customize attachments on all your guns for however you get them. And lock certain attachments behind PaP. Akimbo used to be a cool reward for upgrading your starting gun, but now it’s just a reward for grinding the game until your gun is max level.

I’m kinda rambling but yeah, I love lots of things about bo6, but if I could I’d swap out some systems for older ones.

  6. i love how modern zombies does not have a chore list every game, like pick up parts, get 1 or 3 wall guns, farm points ant etc. in bo6 you can just do with the flow until round 30 and call it a day, the only chore is wonder weapon but in my eyes you only need it if you want to play for more than an hour (past round 30) or do the EE, i’m ok with the chore in both of this scenarios.

in bo2 or 3 i need to be on my toes the whole time in the low rounds, origins or mob are stellar maps but i can’t remember how to do the wonder weapons (ad don’t want to look up guides just for a trip to memory lane) so i basically just play town when i revisit bo2, but i never stay long bc lets face it, the bullet guns are shit.

in bo3 the guns are a bit more fun to use but i usually just play it to try new custom maps. without the cammo grind and with the need to point farm i just don’t feel compelled to play classic zombies regularly anymore, i just come back for nostalgia.

Cold War imo improved casual play so damn much that i kept coming back to the game in the years before b06, its just so rewarding to me to have goals while i play normally, keeps me interested.

Now for the bad parts, i 100% agree on the hardship in switching weapond mid match. i do enjoy to some extent the rarity system, but that together with the triple pap system produces nightmares. I wish they’d keep rarities since those catch up with the rounds in the box and wall weapons but would limit the pap to only 1 costing 5k. maybe make each rarity tier more expensive or whatever but 50k for triple pap is ridiculous.

About the loadout system, i don’t miss wall weapons (i know they’re still there but come on, most of us only use it for the Sally wall buy if we’re using it at all) but i do miss the box and actually still buy it in some games just for the feels. Maybe we could start with a pistol and have a mini quest like the pap one to unlock the loadout, i’d be pretty ok with that tbh. like instead of turning on power (witch is something thats dying nowadays) we could be finding a way for raptor one to reach us, and when we do we drops our loadout and exfil is unlocked. this way we could progress the map with the shit pistol and choose to wait for the loadout to save points or get a wall or box gun to speed up

Thats why the only modern zombies’ map I actually enjoy is shi no numa reborn. Its as close as ‘classic zombies’ gameplay you can get in these new cod’s.
