Its important to remember that almost all of those revered game companies that got their start 20 years ago or more, have so few of the actual people left that made it what it was.

Bungie has been a “evil corporation” for years. We’re talking about the same company that removed content people paid for out of their live service game. Same devs that made excuses about vendors not getting an armor refresh, while their MTX store bursts at the seams. I think we went 300+ days without a new multiplayer map at some point.
The stolen art assets in Marathon isn’t even the first time they’ve let this happen. They’re just a negligent company and management doesn’t care because they’re chasing dollar signs.
Edit: “300 days” 966 days without a new PvP map at one point. This company is trash.

Bungie died in the Destiny 1 Activision’s deal. Most of the top Halo were just fired after strange ego fights. Destiny 1 was 1 year delayed and launched with nowhere near the Halo’s storytelling quality level.

They haven’t really fallen so much as they have been tumbling down an ever lengthening set of stairs for years now.

No one said that bungie was anything but a big evil corporation.

Marathon is the first time a direct Bungie employee stole art. The other times were outside contractors mistaking fanart for official art.

I’ve been steadily losing respect for Bungie since about 3-4 months after Destiny 1 launched.

Never played any Halo, I only know Bungie from Destiny and it was a scam from day 1.

If what I’ve read is true, then the “stolen art” was something that one person did, who isn’t even there anymore, and there was no way to check.
I gave up on them after all of the discrimination allegations. Realistically, this is a company that has essentially made different versions of the same game for the last 20 years. I wouldn’t consider them industry leaders anymore.

You guys are really not paying attention to reality if you thought the guys who made halo weren’t on the side of big corporations

They have been that evil corp for a long time

When playstation bought Sony many said that this was a direct retaliation for xbox buying activision/blizzard.
Some Sony boys laughed because Sony took away Bugnie from Microsoft.
Little did knew, they weren’t getting the Bungie of the golden age of Hale. They were getting the Bungie of today.
