Lower the front section of the desk, then use cat as the softest wrist rest you will ever have! 👍
When I had cats 14 years ago, I would have my keyboard and mouse as close to the edge of the desk, and one or two (kittens), and later room for only one of them right in front of my monitors. One of the cats liked to lie there so much, that it even snored loudly when I was playing games.
The most optimal would be the cat sitting on you. Thank god my cat prefers that over the desk

My cat insists on jumping into my lap and resting her throat on my hand. After a minute she calms down and sleeps in my lap while I play.
