This is still one of my favorites of the Halo franchise, the atmosphere in this one was just tops.
Totally different vibe than the other halo games. I loved it. I remember the helpless feeling of just wanting to catch up to your team in a war torn city.
My buddies and I picked it up at the midnight release, went straight home, and all four of us played through the entire campaign on legendary in one night, refusing to go to bed or do anything else until we got credits.
Was an amazing time to be alive. Much caffeine and junk food was consumed.
Dude when that trailer for this game dropped i freaking lost it, I loooved 2’s campaign, felt like this was a nice little cherry on top of it.
This game was legendary, they should consider dipping back into this concept but take it a step back with the regular UNSC soldiers
This game is still the reason why I use the ODST helmet when available in MCC. The trailers really sold it too, especially the live action ones. It was also a good era of E3, so much weight to each announcement back then.
Not as good as Halo 3 but 90x better than Halo 4-5
Never forget
I remember going half on a preorder with my friend when it came out and we played for days. Did the same for reach too. I definitely didn’t appreciate what an awesome time that was.
I was a Halo 3 stan so it took me a while to play this but when I did I hated myself for taking so long. ODST was incredible!
Does anyone remember if it was Bungie or Microsoft what ultimately decided to make this DLC a game? I’d imagine is up to the publisher but it’s an interesting topic. I remember being exited for this game to come out but after I finished the crazy vidmaster achievement for recon armor, I stopped playing it and went back to Halo 3 all the time. It really should have been a DLC. They charged the price for a new halo game but only did a campaign and firefight. Not that Halo 3 needed any changes or revisions to its multiplayer. The ODST campaign was good but I think it gets a little overrated sometimes. I honestly had way more fun being master chief in the Halo trilogy but it was still a fun game to play. Firefight was alright.
It’s my favorite game of the franchise. Loved playing in the world of Halo as something other than a spartan and Firefight was a great addition to cooperative play.
I still watch the badass trailer every once in a while. Why couldn’t we get the same tone with the TV series?!
Between firefight and finally being able to get recon armor back when it meant something? Yeah this game was the shit.
I loved this game. I managed to get a McFarlane odst trooper before they became rare and then got a odst trooper and mongoose set. They were like a totem for me and I had them on my desk all throughout college and grad school. Sadly like all McFarlane toys they broke after being exposed to the air for too long.
They should make a “republic commando” but with ODST
Not a bad game overall, but just as it was starting to get good it ended.
ODST was best for Firefight.
First game I pre-ordered I was so hype. I finally got to play it and 12 year old me kept getting lost on the campaign maps. I thought they were too big or something it didn’t feel like Halo 3 I guess. Never played it again. Ahh kids.

The OG Helldivers
Still baffling to me they got nolan north as the main character for ODST. I should replay it. its the one halo campaign I never completed.
I rewatch the live action trailer every now and then just to imagine what a good tv show it could have been.
I am about to restart the Halo games from the start.
This is the game that all spin offs should strive to be. Perfect compliment to the mainline stuff whilst adding a different approach to the gameplay hook. Love ODST
