Could play this over and over again.

Its emotional, beautifull and full of heart.

Also had an epic final boss.

Wholeheartedly agree. It’s absolutely fantastic and has an excellent balance of difficulty vs payoff. It’s one of my favourite and most recommended games.

  2. Popetopia

šŸ™Œ. One I recommend to everyone. It’s surprisingly difficult. I think the style has put some people off from a genuinely great action adventure game.

  3. InfernoJesus

The genre is extremely oversaturated so I’m gonna need some really strong convincing to play this one.

How does it compare to Lies of P, Black Myth Wukong, God of War Ragnarok, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, etc

  4. weeble182

Might be a divisive opinion, but I felt like it had so much potential and then never really went anywhere. Looked great, fun premise and storyline, just didn’t ever feel like it got off the ground.

  5. My kids cant stop playing it, with all the cute characters and animation, until they got into the souls combat

  6. It’s great. Wish we had more games with that execution on vision and scope

  7. Papamoon0327

Dude, complete agree. Downloaded it on a whim on the PS plus and couldn’t stop playing.

  8. It was fine. Visuals were great, gameplay was generic but entertaining, story was forgettable. The only thing I remember passionately about this game is how unintuitive the dodge/parry system was, I was still just fumbling around in the endgame. I don’t think it’s slept on, there are just way better games that provide a similar experience.

  9. KnightOfGloaming

I liked it. But the gameplay was not so stunning. In the end, due to my limited time, I played other games and dropped it. However I would still recommend it.

This game deserves a Guinness world record for ā€œeasiest game with the hardest bossesā€ lol seriously a couple of them were no joke

    THIS GENERATION?

Holy man do people ever exaggerate. It was a 7/10 3rd person game.

  12. FantasticBook3529

It’s incredibly highly rated across all platforms and was the top selling game when released and in the top sales for the year. That’s not being slept on.

Yes this game is awesome. I just wished for control presets. I had to map the bomb to L1 in order to map the interact button to R1 so i could use R2 for rot actions. All of this in order to use square and triangle to attack. That’s the only layout that worked here.

Love this game. Been looking for a game like this to dive into again… any recs? I’ve been eyeing Zero Horizon Dawn but it’s still $50 on PSN :-/

  15. Juandisimo117

Eh it was okay. Incredibly well made but pretty much every feature and mechanic was done in other games before

  16. Coldasice_1982

Fun game, not in my top 10, bit I finished it.. Me actually finishing a game means its a good game (for me) šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

Kena was ok, became incredibly mundane, repetitive, and boring after a few hours. Don’t get me wrong, it’s gorgeous, but it was the same environments over and over and over. Game play wasn’t bad, and it became incredibly tough at one point, a massive jump in difficulty level out of nowhere.

It’s worth a trot through, but I typically don’t recommend it. I didn’t hate the game, I beat it and wanted to finish it, but it definitely was repetitive, difficult, and I eventually just wanted it to be over. I enjoy difficult games, but it was less fulfilling and more frustrating to the point where I wasn’t having fun at times.

  18. It’s good, but it was randomly way more difficult than it needed to be I think. It fills that same category as a game like Tunic to me. Seems fun and adventurous on the surface, but it gets difficult and a bit unforgiving randomly at spots.

Souls game game disguised as a kids game.

Loved it. Glad I got the Platinum trophy for this

  20. AwayPresence4375

It’s really fun. A Zelda like game. Only part I didn’t like was the series of boss battles at the end

been waiting to see what comes next from ember lab

Fan with multiple playthroughs & all difficulties beat here. (Also all unlockables *stupid hard)

BEST underappreciated game of the last decade. Brilliant visuals, great storytelling, & great learning curve. Deceptively easy to play yet hard to master. Mixes platforming, fighting, & aiming genres all together fantastically.Ā Ā
One point I wish players knew before playing is; It Makes a HUGE difference depending on what difficulty one plays on. (Unlike a lot of current games pandering to make everyone happy) Kena difficulty dramatically changes on higher difficulties. (Not just more enemy HP, but different enemy AI tactics, timing on attacks, agro & even new unseen enemies only shown on higher difficulties & NG+)
To those who think it’s too hard(bosses) or get stuck… I agree. Consider turning down the difficulty & enjoy the story & playthrough. Then if ya truly enjoyed it, bump it up & master those dodge, bow & staff skills. It was amazingly rewarding to finally master my Kena skills & beat it on the hardest difficulty…Game is a ture diamond in the rough.. Oh & great free DLC challanges… 11/10 personal scorešŸ‘šŸ˜

  23. I enjoyed it for a bit but wasn’t totally sucked in, and when I got distracted by a new game I didn’t end up going back to it to finish.

  24. Slawter91

Hard agree. Easy mode is a fun romp for kids. Master mode is Pixar dark souls. If it weren’t for the “heal when you parry” talisman, I never would have made it through.Ā

  25. Yeah I loved it, the vibes were just awesome, music and characters were so good. Gameplay was fun too.

  26. Couldn’t play it because of unfixible either stutters or something performance related issue. Unfort

  27. hejwbdbeiwbbdiwakwkz

This game is so beautiful. More beautiful than my first born.

  28. The game had amazing use of photogrammetry at the time, rivalling EA’s Battlefield.

    Nearly 15k reviews on Steam
    Nearly 22k on Playstation
    9/10 rating from Steam
    4.5/5 rating from Playstation
    8/10 rating from IGN

I fail to see how this game is slept on. I also distinctly remember this game receiving widespread positive optics on release.

  30. I got about 3/4 of the way through when there was a bug that erased my save file. I was so heartbroken, I never went back to finish it

  31. First few hours were fun, after that it seemed too repetitive and I got bored.

  32. Null_Singularity_0

It’s actually one of the more challenging souls-like games I’ve played. The parry window is absolutely unforgiving.

  33. yolomcsawlord420mlg

Played it fairly early after release because of bow & arrow. I love bow & arrow games with good gameplay. My only issue was that it was kinda short and lacked mechanical depth.

  34. Urdadspapasfrutas

I played it. I enjoyed it. I just wish there was a bit more “umph” after the three hit combo.

Edit: Reddit is the only app where I get constant autocorrect issues.

  35. Low_Humor_459

no couldn’t disagree more, this game is so clunky. a rough draft of a game. you can tell it was made with some type of engine that you click and drop assets, floating jump, clunky controls.

  36. bad_apiarist

I really like Kena. It’s not perfect, though. One of the most frustrating parts was how there’d be incredibly hard challenges that paid out trash rewards. Absolute garbage for some of the hardest things to do in the entire game. The difficulty pacing is really uneven. I rarely struggled as a Soulsborne vet, but yeah.
