I thought that xbox would make Activision better but I was dead wrong.

The increasing monetization, the AI, and especially the 80$ games reek of Activision.

You thought the multi-trillion dollar company that aims to appease their investors would be more consumer/worker friendly than the multi-billion dollar company that aims to appease their investors? Xbox never became Activision, they were always like this.

Black Ops 6 was likely already in development at the time of the merger. So unlikely that Xbox or Microsoft had a hand in it. I’m used to seeing Xbox Game Studios pop up in the opening credits, but from what I recall I don’t remember this?

Either way, Xbox is largely a hands off publisher, so they’ll let Activision do their thing. I’m curious to see how things move forward. I have GamePass and as long as these keep coming I could care less about the $80 cost. Most of the games I play are Xbox anyway, and so an $80 price tag is nothing to me if it’s on GamePass. I easily exceed the value of GamePass games played every year. Very rarely do I pay full price for a game, and I have to really really want it. Otherwise if I wait long enough it inevitably comes to GamePass, or it goes on sale for pretty cheap.

GamePass Ultimate is $240 a year now. Considering it now costs $75 a year to purely play online, figure that it’s $165 worth of games you need to play to break even. If CoD is $80, then boom that’s half the value right there. That leaves $80 on the table for another AAA game, or a litany of other ones.

Isn’t Microsoft/Xbox pretty hands off for the most part with their acquisitions? That was my understanding with the Minecraft acquisition anyhow.

Why on earth did you think Xbox would make it better? They’ve ruined nearly all the IP they already owned so why would Cod be any different? why do you think everyone with sense was against the acquisition and wanted Activision to say out of Microsoft/Xbox’s pocket, not just for Cods sake but there’s so many Activision IP’s that will probably never see the light of day again now.

I feel like the joke is mostly on you for thinking a company owning another company would make either one “better” honestly. These are billionaires we’re talking about here.
