A lot of Vanguard’s aesthetics are amazing, as well as a lot of the story ideas. It’s just a shame the gameplay is abysmal

I can’t get behind vanguard love when this is the game that put cod zombies on life support. Good to see an actual unpopular opinion though.

Very unpopular opinion, also very unheard of.
It was just too barebones at launch. I mean, we didn’t even get a pack-a-punch camo to begin with, like what? Points per kill was awful given the newly implemented system of the perk machines being 4 tiers, becoming more expensive each tier costing around 15,000 points for a maxed out perk I believe. It took ages to grind.
2 round based maps, one of which was reused. I’d of been okay with this if it was any map but Shi No Numa, Der Riese would have been a better option imo. Finally, & funnily enough my biggest gripe of the game was the zombies mastery camo. Within the trailers etc & whole theme of Vanguard zombies, it was a red, blood, demon like theme but yet we were given basically green tiger for a mastery camo? & not the mention the absurd camo challenges required, 4000 kills being a great example.
I’m doing a lot of complaining here I know but I just feel it needed to be said, Vanguard was horrific for zombie players mostly & we needed a solid comeback.

never played the game but the artstyle seems pretty awesome with the zombie models and aether god designs. would make for some cool zombies if I (or anyone) liked the new mechanics. best case scenario id expect is for the assets to be ripped and eventually put into a custom map on bo3 or something

I actually fucked with vanguard zombies. I remember when the PPSH was broken and using it as a hip fire laser beam. Good times

In the beginning when vanguard zombies came out it wasn’t given a proper chance because of the objective based challenges you had to do and there were only like 2 challenges at the time and limited zombies in Der Enfang so the game felt boring and incomplete. But it did improve but by then Mr roffle waffles shitted all over it and you know there are people that aren’t capable of their own thinking so they went with what he said and the game basically became an iconic disaster. Completely ruining the objective based experience. It did feel repetitive i can’t lie about that but I can see why they were trying to change the mode. Personally, I don’t care too much about easter eggs because I’ve been playing zombies since WAW. Those easter eggs from that era were too difficult and extremely time consuming for a solo casual player like myself. I hated that i constantly needed to check out forums, and then later on go to youtube just to solve to see a boss fight. I wish zombies would finally scrap the easter egg idea, keep the round based but make it a STORIED game mode where you can progress without having to look at goofies like Mr roffle waffles to play zombies. Relying on others to get to a boss fight shouldn’t have to be a thing. So treyarch tried to switch it up with objective based and make the game a little easier for regular players to enjoy zombies more. But with directed mode now in BO6 I feel like they answered concerns from the casuals like myself AND the hardcores that like to spend years trying to solve or glaze youtubers to find the answers for them. Now if they really want to cater to those hardcores all they need to do is keep the directed mode and make the easter eggs more difficult and they will have answered both needs. BO6 gets it right just make it more challenging for the hardcore nerds that like that stuff and are stuck in nostalgia world.

That’s not unpopular.
