Boot it up and have a great afternoon?

  2. That’s an awful place to put a shitty ad in. Was that thing sold in a transparent box?

Jesus, ID software charged the equivalent of $80 today for Wolf3D. Good times.

    Before you ask.
    No.
    It’s worth nothing.

  6. Is that shareware? Otherwise why would it ask for separate paying to the author?

Gaming was forever changed by this game

An anecdote that I read somewhere (may have been here on reddit), some guy found his old pc and disk collection in his attic and got it down to show his son. His son asked him why he 3D printed the save icon 🤣

Woah you found a save button IRL! I have hundreds at home, archiving random stuff šŸ˜€

Lol that’s the first game I ever stole from a big retail store.

ā€œSuperb scrollingā€ stands out to me. These were really the first 3D games with textures and we were still used to judging 2D game technology, where something like smooth scrolling was significant.

There’s no way to live through that period of transition from 2D gaming to 3D gaming again. What a treat to have enjoyed it at the time.
