Evo Japan 2025 is going down this week where we got to witness one of the first offline majors for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves with top players competing from all over the world.
Now that the action for Fatal Fury has wrapped, we’ve gone and gathered the character statistics to see who were the most popular picks in this initial big bout.
Out of the cast of 17 fighters, 10 of them ended up seeing main play during the top 32 of this event with some familiar faces for those following the competitive scene thus far.
Nearly half of the top finishers were on only two characters, and though Kain has been in the discussion as one of the best in the game, he was not among them.
Instead it was Hotaru and Hokutomaru who showed up the most deep into the bracket with 8 and 7 players maining them respectively.
Marco also had a strong showing at Evo Japan, especially in the hands of PWS|Go1, though none were able to crack the top 8.
The finalists this time included 2 Hotarus, 2 Hokutomarus, 2 Gatos, Billy and Kain with the winner KSG|Xiaohai taking Hotaru all the way.
We almost saw Cristiano Ronaldo reach the final stage too with WBG|Diaphone taking him up to 9th place.
There were 7 characters who didn’t show up at all, however, between Rock, Salvatore Ganacci, Tizoc, B. Jenet, Mai, Kevin and Kim Dong Hwan.
