Btw the PC still works completely fine

  2. Lord_Wisemagus

that sounds like a destroyed fan to me, ballbearing probably fucked

  3. Big_Bear_Audio

You said ‘dying chicken’ but I didn’t expect that sound. Thank you Charmander for making my day

Definitely sounds like a fan going bad. If you can’t identify just by using your ear, there’s a program called Fan Control which should let you turn off basically every fan except the PSU fan, so you can figure out which one. If you’re not able to totally turn them off (mine doesn’t let me kill the CPU cooler fans or a specific set of case fans for whatever reason), you can just ramp them up or down and you will probably hear the noise change.

    yr fan…

if u want it to shut up, smack it or push on the center hard enough, it will shut up for awhile

  6. Fan bearing gone. Try to locate which fan it is by sense of hearing. If you are careful you can actually stop a fan by pushing your finger against the hub. Stopping it for a second won’t do any damage but don’t hold it for too long. Its probably a GPU fan and you can buy replacements from Ebay or Ali Express.

NB NB DO not touch the fan in the power supply because that is surrounded by hazardous voltages and is not a user replaceable part. If you think the power supply fan is shot then you need to replace the power supply.

99% certain that’s a fan, most likely a bearing gone bad, if you’ve got a fan controller or a daisy-chained fan setup, just disconnect them 1-by-1 to identify the issue and just swap it out.

Obviously, if it’s a GPU fan, then that’s a different story.

Ugh South Carolina just scored a touchdown.

Did you check to make sure it isn’t a dying chicken? On the real tho, my AIO pump sounded like that after a hard drive install and i just had to tilt my PC (almost laying it down on its side) and it stopped. Not sure what else u got going on in there tho.

Sounds like the water pump is done for if you are using a AIO cooler. Or a fan bearing.

Cue someone on Insta or Tiktok making a remix of this.

  12. DrunkTeaSoup

Unplug a fan at a time until you find the one that is dead

  13. Agreeable_Experiance

It’s definitely a fan that needs replacing

  14. Agreeable_Experiance

Just keep an eye on your temps while your pc is running with this issue

  15. Danitosaurio

Because there is a dying chicken inside

  16. ScotchBonnet96

  17. MrMorgan412

Sounds like some tom and jerry goofs

I literally had this problem couple days ago. Mine was a gpu fan. I teardown gpu completely and oiled the fan. But u need to open the fan but its not easy thing to do. After i applied oil my problem about the fan is gone and silent as day one.

First u need to identify which fan is gone bad.

Mine was coal powered train btw 🙂

I would say like a VW TDI engine In the verge of breaking

    Hi I’m a Microsoft Independent Advisor™.

You should really factory reset your Windows installation /s

  21. Gastrocat

Either a janky $10 fan, or the nastiest coil whine I’ve ever heard.

  22. Catomara

Don’t worry, that’s just Jeremy from Smiling Friends.

  23. Chicken-picante

Probably a dying chicken in there. Occams razor.

  24. Rooach2

Its either a fan. Or if it is a new GPU it can be coil whine. I have heard some diabolical GPUs sound like that.

  25. Unslaadahsil

    If you’re lucky, a fan.

If you’re unlucky, you’re about to lose a hard drive.

  26. Proof_Programmer

sounds like either a liquid pump failing/eating air bubbles, or a bad fan. if it’s the fan, you could honestly try just assisting it moving if it’s struggling, it might fix itself and quiet down if you are lucky like I was lol

  27. Che-kabu

Это похоже на подшипник водяной помпы. У тебя водяное охлаждение? Было такое, при включении сперва такой звук, потом исчезает. Притрется со временем и будет работать нормально.

  28. N7LP400

I was confused reading the title then turned the sound on and laughed my ass off

  29. Thought you were exaggerating. Turns out it DOES exactly sound like a dying chicken. I’m not much of a PC guy but that sounds like a fan.
