I thought it was fun to use and had a lot of potential but it hasn't returned. It could do with a rework so you can have more than 3 at a time or you get hearts for killing elites just some ideas. How would you rework it?

God I loved the idea of the Altar. Honestly the best thing to come from Vanguard.
I dont think they should have put ammo mods directly in there tbh, but I wouldn’t mind them using it for an Augment system.
I always said before BO6 that covenants and the buy multjple times perk upgrade system should return, but I think BO6 augments are way better.
Covenants should definitely come back though.

The covenant system is great, but I think they’d need to work it in a different way. It’s just another resource you have to manage (and in my experience, hoarding everything until you can get the best upgrade).
I think upgradable perks in-game and other things like that actually fit really well into the core gameplay loop
I love the idea and aesthetic of the Altar of Covenants so would be nice but a few changes I would make would be:
1. One covenant slot refreshes every round rather than all 3 refreshing every 3 rounds like in Vanguard.
2. Spend 1 heart to refresh all 3 slots.
3. Spend hearts to upgrade already acquired covenants.
It needs a serious rebalancing, because let’s be honest: if you get all the damage enhancing covenants (which are basically Deadshot on steroids), then you basically have no need to swap out anything else. At a minimum, I would make it so every covenant has a negative effect as a trade-off, so that you would always have a reason to swap covenants in higher rounds. Or, at the very least, make higher tier covenants cost more hearts, because at some point you’re just stacking up hearts for no reason.

Most of the covenants were just recycled perks or ammo mods, so no.
Honestly I know I’m in the minority here but, I still love modern zombies and this is old news but I really miss when you could play a game of zombies and actually acquire all of the best stuff just through playing the game, even in sker it bothers me with whatever that system is called
