Learned this lesson the hard way like 12 years ago.
Use a hot air gun (~160°C) on the heatsink before prying.
Next time you’ll get it without fukking up

I received a stick of DDR5 from Amazon that wouldn’t boot at all. After looking closer I found the heatsink was loose, attached to it and not the PCB was all 4 RAM ICs.

Someone help me here, was this a case you put on before you install it or did you try and rip the factory cover off?

That’s what happens when you put heatsinks on RAM.
I wonder what the RAS to CAS latency is now?
Did this taking the heat sink off my ssd
😤
Just solder it directly to the cpu to get more cache
Use liquid nitrogen after the bubble stop you pop it off as the glue is non sticky.
I did exactly the same thing as you did like a year ago…

ouch
but why
Now just plug it back in and it should work
