“Cat Tree Catastrophe” is the third unlock quest for the Cheshire Cat in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Although it is officially listed as an Alice Quest, it is required to unlock the Cat as a Villager. It first became available on May 7, 2025 and unlocks one week after completing “Chaos in the Kitchen.” After completing this Quest, the Cheshire Cat will officially move to Dreamlight Valley!
Catch The Cheshire Catfish
This Quest begins automatically on logging into Dreamlight Valley. Talk to Moana, who tells you that strange fish have begun appearing on Dazzle Beach. Follow her to her Boat, where she shows off an odd purple fish – the Cheshire Catfish!
Take a photo of Moana’s Boat with the Cheshire Catfish inside. (They are the large pile of purple striped fish sitting on the front of the boat.) Then, continue fishing on Dazzle Beach until you have caught 5 Cheshire Catfish. They can be caught in gold bubbles, which will appear more frequently on Dazzle Beach during this Quest.
Once you have caught the five Cheshire Catfish, bring them to Alice. She agrees that they are the result of the Cat’s pranks. Head inside Alice’s House, where the Cheshire Cat has appeared.
Find The Cheshire Cat’s Mini Tree
Talk to the Cheshire Cat, who reveals that he is looking for his favorite tree, and seems willing to stop his chaos at least temporarily if it is found.
You need to find the Cheshire Cat’s Mini Tree and take a picture of it – fortunately, you don’t have to go far! The tree is inside Alice’s House. Head into her bedroom (the small room on the right) and the Mini Tree is found on the wall across from her bed, partially hidden behind a curtain.
Once you have taken the picture, a physical Mini Tree will appear on the floor. Pick it up, and then talk to the Cheshire Cat, who tells you to put his tree somewhere it can grow bigger.
Welcome The Cheshire Cat
Using Furniture Mode, place the Cheshire Cat’s Tree anywhere in the Valley. Finally, talk to the Cheshire Cat in his tree. This will complete the Quest and officially welcome the Cheshire Cat as a Villager. Now, you can talk to him in his tree to have Daily Discussions with him, give him Gifts, Hang Out, and more!
