If Linux could natively play all the games, with the same level of performance, without jumping through a million hoops then I absolutely would use it. It doesn’t, so I don’t.
If I want a web server, I wouldn’t chuck IIS at the front end.
If I wanted a tiny install, you’re darn tootin I’d get a lightweight linux distro.
There is no Us Vs. Them.
There is a place for MacOS too, given a very specific set of circumstances.

I like Linux command line a lot more than Windows’, I like GNOME as a GUI and even not I can still get things done in the command line.
But I won’t tell everybody around me to go start using Linux tmr. Different people got different priorities.

linux indeed have their own use. BUT if you expect your machine to be able to do ALL IN ONE TASK where you don’t care much and want working desktop without much problem, then windows is.

Linux is extremely important for all backend. But people cannot argue that it can replace windows or Mac simply because of ease of use, familiarity and programs available. All 3 OS are required for different use cases.

So what? Use whatever gets the job done. I have Linux VMs on windows and Windows VMs on Linux, there is no single OS that’s good for everything. It’s tradeoffs all the way down, no matter which way you go.

Outside pc enthusiast communities online I haven’t met anyone talking about Linux this way, or even vice versa, in the past 35 years.
What I’m trying to say is that, because of how it is, Linux doesn’t have the mind share that Windows and Mac have. As long as Windows and Mac fuck up big time to alienate the casual user base no one is gonna wanna hear about our lord and savior Linux.
