Wait. EB is back?! Full circle.

  2. FrostyDynamic

Never stopped calling it EB Games.

Glad it’s back to being Canadian again.

  3. __TheWaySheGoes

Bruh it went from EB Games, to GameStop, back to EB Games, back to GameStop and now we’re going back to EB Games again?

Bring back the demo displays too now lol i remember playing the CoD2 demo mission a ton when the 360 came out

What purpose do these stores even have these days

  6. -SexSandwich-

Now rebrand the US stores back to Babbage’s you cowards!

  7. bitterhop

happy to hear, but I have a feeling it’s going to go more in the direction of toys and games rather than videogames, especially with quotes like ‘deeper integration with pop culture brands’.

Yay feels like my childhood store came back but it’s just the name 🤣

  9. CoolCly

    Let’s go full Electronics Boutique!

I wonder what their expected model to make these viable again is. Physical game media isn’t gonna rebound.

Literally, I keep calling it EB Games to this day. It’s so ingrained in my head

  11. I loved EB Games, I hope it can be successful here and rebound.

These stores need to go back to focussing on gaming. I don’t know about others but my local GameStop, AKA EB Games, only caries Switch, PS5 and current gen Xbox, with a sprinkle of PS4 stuff. The rest of the store is toys, candy and various game branded junk.

I think they need to lean back in to full buy and sell, including retro stuff. Make it worth going into, because right now there’s no reason to go to these stores.

So will they now add a sorry when they cancel my 2 month old pre order?

  14. H0ly_Cowboy

The news hasn’t caught up to Google AI for Canada on it. Interestingly EB games is still around New Zealand and Australia. It may take some time, but it could make a comeback in North America.

  15. So how does this affect the MOASS conspiracy theorists? Are they any closer to toppling the entire global economy?

  16. Ty-douken

Aw man, I feel so much better about going back to & pre-ordering my games in store. Maybe they’ll shift away from being Funko graveyards eventually.

Should see if they can coordinate with A & C Games to maybe start dealing in Retro games too.

  17. Still EB Games in other parts of the world.

  18. joeyretrotv

So, Toy’s R Us, now EB Games? My country is a hospice where companies go to live until they die. 😂

  19. mortavius2525

Does anyone here remember when it was Electronics Boutique?

  20. orcvader

Man. My OG games store was EB Games. This is nostalgia at its finest.

  21. skykikid1991

Should change name to “EB GAMESTOP” so that they stay

  22. thepoopstring

Let’s go all the way bring back electronics boutique

  23. traveling-ap-1984

Will be interesting to see how it fares just in Canada. As I understand it, the domestic operations are profitable in general, but the international ones not as much. Not sure where Canada fell on that spectrum.

  24. zan9823

Hope this doesn’t affect Switch preorders

  25. dan33410

Here’s hoping they pivot away from being Funco Pop outlet stores

  26. bakulaisdracula

Go full Electronic Boutique, you cowards!

  27. Demystify0255

So just wondering, is my Switch 2 pre-order safe?

  28. ThatEdward

Wow, finally! Been worried I wouldn’t find someone to buy my copy of Oblivion Remastered for 25 cents of in-store credit
