Me now: I should probably check out that Expedition 33 game.
3 years time: Oh that Expedition 33 game is 80% off. I’ll buy it and give it a go at some point.
5 years time: Wow the sequel to Expedition 33 just came out. I’ll have to play the first one immediately.
10 years time: That Expedition 33 game had a cult following back in the day, I should really check it out for old times sake.
20 years time: *scanning Steam library* what’s this decades old RPG doing in my library? *googles* ohh yeah that game.
50 years time: *on deathbed* “My dearest grandson, do tell grandpappy about that Expedition 33 game… was it good?” *dies*
In heaven:
Jesus: “Hello I’m Jesus, up here you have infinite time to play however many games you like!”
Me: “Oh lovely. I’ll have to give that Expedition 33 game a go at some point…”

*proceeds to play same 3 games all the time*

It’s even worse for me. I have some time now, but also health issues, so I can’t play much, despite my huge library. 😔

And when you boot up PC and look at game you will be like, oh man I got nothing to play. And you will go out and buy new games
Same like woman and clothes, closet full of clothes and they always say but I got nothing to wear 😂😂😂

Backlogs are for work, not hobbies. Think of it more as tv channels you’re flipping through. Do you have to focus on and finish one show at a time, all seasons? No. Skip around. Close your eyes and pick one. And most importantly, if you don’t like one, SELL IT! Nobody’s able to try the game you don’t like if it’s just collecting dust on your shelf for years FFS.Â

Theres just one single method of getting rid of an overwhelming backlog: STOP BUYING NEW GAMES!!!
Ignore FOMO, the games that come out right now will still be playable in a year. Focus on the games you have and play only those. Eventually, your list of games will get smaller.

Meh, my library is stacked with shitty games because of the PS monthly games.

Me: so many games… all of them boring.

Pick out top 10
Get a 10-dice.

Pick up a game. Play it . If it drags or gets boring put it down and play the next game . You will be amazed at how quickly you will play through more good games and clear your backlog
DMaster86
I’ve started tackling my backlog a couple of years ago and honestly i’m in no hurry to buy new games anytime soon.

Yeah, this isn’t a hobby anymore, it’s an expensive form of digital hoarding.
