During the Covid gpu shortage I sold mine on eBay for double what I paid.

  2. Accurate_Practice_41

Unfortunate but common for an in-person visit at Best Buy. I see GTX 1060 and similar GPUs there all the time.

But hey, at least they’re at MSRP!

P.S. most of us use Best Buy drops online to yoink our cards. More info on that should be easily found on Reddit and discord drop servers

  3. FrugalStrudel

I was just in my local best buy yesterday and they had a 3050 for sale for $350 😂

  4. Heavy_Fig_265

yea crazy cause where were these during shortages during their time

  5. zeblods

I paid a brand new RX 590 (so slightly better than the RX 580) for less than that back in the end of 2019…

  6. T0asty514

I bought one of these for my kid, great budget card.

  7. Thomas5020

Biostar announced a new model of the 580 last year.

No idea why it’s still hanging on.

  8. outrightbrick

I have a 580 installed in one of my systems and it still performs solid for 1080p

  9. TeraWolverine

The reason why they are still selling it is probably because of its absurdly low price for a gpu

  10. StomachAromatic

That’s still a popular card. Especially now that people will use the RX 580 specifically for frame gen using Lossless Scaling.

  11. jacoborobo

Nvidia 8400GS was produced and sold up until 2015 at least

  12. Fine-Ratio1252

It’s all about price. If it is cheap enough

  13. Kriss_kross_

I bought RX580 for 150 NEW in 2018, seeing it still going for that price is so funny tbh…

  14. kingOofgames

I’m using one right now. It’s solid for a really budget build. But it was like $85 on Newegg.

  15. SliceOfCheese337

Mine has zero CPUs or GPUs on shelf’s, as soon as the 50 series came out they pulled all PC parts off shelves and put signs that tell you to ask an associate for help.

  16. Weak_Signature7730

OH NO!!!!! They’re selling budget options that still perform?!?!?!?!?! how could they!!!!

  17. vinnie_smols

I just threw an old RX580 4GB in with my 9900k last rig for 1440p and it runs. Not great, but it runs. Not that that isn’t an abysmal price for this card.

  18. dgracey01

I have one of those. More than capable of outputting a 4k 60hz to a TV screen. Continued to use on my secundary PC. Replaced with 3070 only after updating my main PC.

  19. smon696

I mean the price is a tad bit too high, but an RX 580 can still run a lot of games. If they sold it at the price of a B580 or 7600, that would be a scam.

  20. LilJashy

It’s the only one they could get in stock. Lol

  21. allstar0419

RX 580 is a great ultra budget card for 1080p. Paired with an 8th/9th gen i5 or 2nd/3rd gen Ryzen you can build an entry level gaming PC for around $300. In my local marketplace, they go for around $50-60 used.

Granted this is new with a warranty but I think a fair price would be around $100

  22. no6969el

I can find that GPU in almost every Best buy walk into.

  23. Hard pass, you can get a used 6600 for $150 which is a waaay better deal.

  24. Jimmy_Skynet_EvE

I’m shocked they have anything not Nvidia.

  25. cmccaff92

Still a great card for everyday use…if you stick to older games it’s more than enough

  26. Leopard1907

Surely much more pricey but RX 6600 at 265 USD ( current price at bestbuy) would be a much better choice due to:

    – Double performance

    – For Windows, RX 580 doesnt have an ongoing driver support while RX 6600 has

    – It has hw RT which is ( again, on Windows ) needed for some games to even work and their number will only increase. Indiana Jones was one, Doom Dark Ages will likely be the next one.

    – Much better encoder

So saving up a bit more and buying 6600 is a better outcome

Used this card up until I upgraded to a 4070 ti super. Card served me very well, and still works. Gave the computer to my wife for her office.

  28. NudeSpaceDude

I had an rx480 until two years ago. It ran everything I needed it to at 60 fps. Cyberpunk, Skyrim on an egregious amount of mods, VR, Escape from Tarkov.

It died on me though. Big sad. Probably would’ve replaced it either way, but im sure this card can pull most games for the average gamer. Probably as good as a console, potentially better.

  29. Jafranci715

What’s wild is the price. This should be a sub $100 card.

  30. Trick_Actuator5763

far better buy than any of the old GeForce shit thats getting thrown around. fuckin. GT 710/30 bullshit
