Why not just make a home server? I did it. Added plex and now I have a home library of movies, music and books.

The only hardware left from my prebuilt that’s in my current rig is the PSU, and for good reason. Thankfully all my components weren’t no-name stuff, so reuseability was never an issue.

5 years is not long, but then again that build was largely obsolete 5 years ago.

i uh..
my first pre built was bought for me by my parents 6 years ago.. i still have the GPU lying around, an AMD Radeon R7 240.. also had an fx 6300 and 8 gigs of ddr3, case is in a closet, board processor and ram got sent to a friend who somehow killed their board, hard drive went to my buddy who needed one.. but i keep that gpu just to.. well.. one it’s good for diagnostics, but two, it’s good every so often to remember what i have now compared to what it used to be.
