Funny how he lost weight but people still remember him as looking like a PC gaming Santa Clause.

I don’t get it; does it mean Steam is lowering their 30% price commission?

I’m sad at GPU prices
But integrated graphics start to be very interesting.

If you think publishers won’t price their PC games at the same level as well you’re gonna have a bad time.
Minialpacadoodle
Why do we pretend GPUs are cheap and new games won’t be the same price?
Emily_Virtua
I hope pc gaming doesn’t die due to prices. It my only hobby in life.

Nintendo is still acting like they are the only handheld in the market. Back in 2017 people were willing to pay 60 bones just for the novelty of portable Skyrim. We got more than a dozen PC handhelds now

Single_Asparagus_704
80$ games on pc will happen. But guess what? They’ll actually go on sale unlike its Nintendo counterpart.

I’m honestly worried about what will happen when Gabe dies.

At this point in time, if you’re still abusing yourself with the limitations of consoles, you’ll do yourself so many favors from just going full PC gaming! Literally everything the consoles can do, PCs can do and much much more! I personally preferred consoles over PC for decades because of the convenience of just plopping my ass down on my couch and pressing the home button on my controller and begin playing games on a big screen TV, when TVs were much more difficult to hook your PC to…but now, every modern TV has a HDMI port that can go to a PC and get the same experience seamlessly! I still use my old Xbox One purely out of obligation to use it to its limit, but once it dies…not a single penny will go to console purchases ever again, why would I?
Free_Caballero
Yeah until you remember publishers set the price on steam, valve just has some dates and periods when they invite them to be part of the sales but each developer/publisher can decide if they participate, how much they discount and when.
Sorry guys is not Steam nor Gabe putting games on discount for you lol
PatSajaksDick
I really hate this console vs pc fighting, I have both and use both. I like Switch because wait for… it plays Nintendo games that I like!

Idk, man. The momentum PC gaming got from the Steam Deck is starting to slow down. Games are coming out with more aggressive DRM implementations that are dogging on performance. A lot of my friends that have built systems during Ryzen 5000 are struggling to run games at 1080p, and it’s not looking like it’s going to change.
I still think console has a damn good spot, since a PS5 is able to run games that a 5600x and 4060ti are struggling with… PC propaganda always ignores how awful DRM can be, and how many games are just stupid hard to run.

If Steam Deck won’t go up in price like the rest, then yeah, I agree!

To the people openly suggesting that everyone pirate. I completely get it, but I have a question: let’s say more people on PC begin to pirate games because the prices go up, discounts and Steam sales aren’t low enough.
As a publisher, why would you continue to put your games on a platform where there is an increase in piracy when you can just funnel your games straight to consoles only? Publishers have been far better about getting their games on PC(unoptimized sure, but that’s another discussion), and I believe that is due to stores like Steam. Steam sales justify the potential piracy element because more people will just buy a game rather than going through the process of piracy, with the obvious issue that it’s illegal being a problem for some.
Essentially, if we were to pirate games like you may be suggesting, isn’t it possible that an increase in video game piracy leads to less games coming to PC overall? AAA at least? Would you still suggest it if it lead to a drought in new AAA titles coming to PC?

The value proposition for console gaming is in free fall.
With a PC you have access to a MASSIVE back catalog of high quality games that you can buy at 75-90% off quite often.
You can use mods etc.
With console you just have to accept whatever shit they serve you.
Fancy-Link2430
sorry console players….2026 is far away. r.i.p. bought my 4000 dollar pc and will never go to console again 🙂
