I only have Warzone and BO6 Multiplayer downloaded and in the launcher it says the combined file size doesn’t even reach 100GB yet it’s taking up 260GB of console space? 2 Multiplayer games taking up more than half of a consoles internal storage is ridiculous.

Anyone will tell u “oh its the amount of textures and resources” which is sadly true, activision team has never heard of resource optimization. There are countless other games which look better or at least the same as cod games, have same amount or more content and yet are way smaller. For example, titanfall 2. The whole game with campaign and multiplayer is less than 70gb. Old game engine and yet still looks stunningly beautiful
I want to believe that the truth is that they make you silently download all the cod games so that you have to just pay to “unlock” them and immediately start playing.
They build these games with spaghetti code and it’s held together with duct tape and wire. Throw 4 different versions of the game, built by multiple studios, in a pot and stir. It becomes a massively bloated mess because nothing is optimized from the previous iterations.
The size reported in-game is simply outdated and inaccurate. The size reported in your screenshot for each game is reflected at the launch of BO6, which is only really accurate for MWII and MWIII (because they had all the post-launch content added at that point).
This module also does not account for COD HQ (aka the hub launcher itself), and the texture streaming cache, which can take up to 64GB depending on how you set it.
Press options on the game tile in the dashboard, then Manage Game Content, uninstall all the various shared content packs
Also, filesizes on there are slightly inaccurate
My theory is that it stuffs up your PS hard drive so you can’t install any other free to play games…
4k texture, on 4k models, in 4k maps, with over 400 different guns with different 4k attachments and skins all in 4k.
Who plays CoD online in 60fps 4k? I don’t know, I hope they don’t complain about not gettin kills if they do.
You can make it smaller but might need to reinstall. Mine is 140gb on ps5 I only did the necessary files for warzone but I believe that also includes b06 multi because it’s forced
Just for info, warzone only pc size is rn 102GB. Was 97GB before this weed shit update. Base game shows 70gb. Fuck Activision and their forced downloads so that they can do free access weekends. I don’t give a fuck about multiplayer. I paly warzone. Verdansk is like 30gby but I have to have bo6 and such too.
