Idk about canceling but this update nerfed the shit our of chopper
Yes it has the best way to use a chopper gunner in this boss fight is to hide behind the metal pipe things so he doesn’t kick you out when you’re out in the open.
Boss enemies can knock you out off chopper gunner if your not behind cover it been that way since release.
It has done it to me twice it was weird, at the start of the game and a few months ago, something must cause it or it’s a rare bug
Yeah it’s always been like that if your not behind the containers it can hit you and cancel your chopper gunner

Bosses can hit score steaks. Even the mangler loses health if the hit is too hard.
I think it was always been like this. It has happened to me the very first time playing this.
