Nvidia dominates the GPU market. Steam Hardware Survey shows their cards fill the top spots, while AMD’s discrete GPUs barely register. More people are using AMD iGPUs than their actual GPUs. Reddit, including r/pcmasterrace, is a vocal minority. Nvidia’s pricing sucks, but they can get away with it because their stuff performs and most people don’t care about anything else.

Maybe because the 4090 is literally the second best GPU ever made
Simple_Let9006
I did not like that green in amd logo
Rude_Champ93
Damn, almost the same percentage when both cards are at the exact opposite of the performance spectrum.
Apprehensive-Bug9480
RX 6600 there are literally different variants of similar cards like 6600 XT and 6650 XT. Add them and you will see results. 4090 was unique and top tier for more than 2 years, completely normal in my opinion

I mean, that’s fair, tbh. 6600 is a compromised product that wasn’t good (strictly a budget option) whereas the 4090 was an incredible product at launch. It’s the last unambiguously good product nVidia released, tbh. Sure, the price means it isn’t for most of us, but it was a big increase in performance at the high end.

The 4090 is still the king of cards. Thank god I have one. But remember it isn’t about your card but if you can game that is what really matters.

I mean it makes sense, there are WAY more Nvidia GPUs in prebuilts, the 4090 was the top dog of last gen, the 6600 is a budget option priced similarly to a ton of other cards in its performance bracket too.
So yeah, a Lamborghini is more common than a Corvette, because Corvette guys will happily tell you all about how they actually have one of the only 17 Corvettes to ever be produced in Blue, in that specific trim level, on Tuesday and signed off by a guy named “Keith”.

It’s a bad comparison imo.
6600 has like three variants: the 6600, 6600 XT, 6650 XT. The 4090 has only two, one of which isn’t available readily and requires importing from China, so the general crowd is going to stick with a 4090.
AMD doesn’t have the consumer GPU share anyhow, not disagreeing there.
Blenderhead36
People bought 4090s because they wanted them. People bought 6600s because the store was out of 3060s and 6600XTs.

so this is where jasen got the conclusion that gamers are rich, hence he can continue to raise prices to squeeze the gaming market.
uSuperDick
Its more disappointing to see that 3050 is more popular than 6600. You get 6600 performance only if you use dlss on 3050 lmao
WoodooTheWeeb
Idc about the 6650 but I would really like to see the chart with the 6600xt added to it

Are these cards similar in power? (I’m not up to date with AMD branding or model numbering logic)

kinda, makes sense, the rx 6650 took that range
But the diff is only 0.05%?
That basically means no difference.

more rich than poor

Why the fuck are you comparing these two cards?
